The anime is based on the light novel written by Kumanano. Shosetsuka ni Naro website was the first one to publish this version online. After the light novel series was taken up by a different company, the novel was published in its hard copy version in 2015.
Later, the light novel series was transformed into its manga version comprising eight tankobon volumes in 2018. After its manga adaptation, it was finally taken up for its anime adaptation in 2020.
