A sci-fi that blends fantasy, cat-mouse chases, and some sensitive issues. Infinite Stratos showcases a universe that is dominated by women who hold the power to manipulate IS suits and exoskeletons that hold the capacity to run and ruin the world. But the most interesting character of this series, Ichika Orimura, leads the anime. He is your typical teenager who enjoys the attention he gets for being the only male IS pilot.
In a world where men are mistreated and often considered to be less than women, Orimura becomes the ultimate hope. He joins the academy and tries to adjust to his current position but to no avail. He often fails, becoming the subject of constant teasing and taunting since he is the younger brother of a well-established IS pilot.
It is a brilliantly crafted series with a fresh storyline and great characters. You’ll enjoy this series completely if you can ignore Orimura’s overly ignorant personality and can overlook some details. As the series begins, we are suddenly treated to a young teenager who can control an exoskeleton suit. We are told that it is a skill only women possess, then how come Orimuru could do it? If season 3 were to arrive, we could have expected the answer from it.
