The first season of Delhi Crime was based on the infamous 2012 Delhi gang rape case, the incident was disheartening for the whole country. The story of the series is based on the 2012 Nirbhaya case when a girl was travelling with her friend via a bus, and there were around 6 people on the bus including the driver, conductor, cleaner, etc. The girl was raped and beaten to death, and her friend was also brutally wounded, the people on the bus threw both the girl and her friend out of the bus, and the people around her saved her and got her to a hospital, and the girl ended up being dead, and the whole story of Delhi Crime is based on that crime that is still scary to even think about.
The culprit in real life got the punishments, one of them was a minor and served in juvenile jail, one of the culprits did suicide while he was in prison, and the other four victims were sentenced to death and ended up getting executed on 20 March 2020.
Delhi Crime follows the life of Delhi Commissioner of Police Vartika Chaturvedi who is on a mission to find the suspects behind the rape case. The first season of Delhi Crime followed the situation after the rape case.
All the characters were really thrilling to watch in the series, and the series got an Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, and the second season of Delhi Crime already seems to be the talk of the town, as the teaser already has more than 1 million views.

Director of Delhi Crime Richie Mehta has said earlier that Delhi Crime will follow a different story in every season but with the same cast. Season 2 of Delhi Crime will follow another crime with the same cast. Shefali Shah will be seen again in the role of DCP Vartika Chaudhary.

The cast is the soul of the crime thriller series, and without good actors, a good series can not be made. Delhi Crime has outstanding actors such as Shefali Shah as the DCP Vartika Chaudhary. The character of Vartika Chaudhary was inspired by Chhaya Sharma who was the DCP at the time of the real-life case. She is set to find the culprit behind the crimes. Rasika Duggal is seen in the role of an IPS trainee Neeti Singh, who supports Shefali Shah’s character Vartika. Denzil Smith has previously worked in movies like Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos, Baadshaho, etc, Yashaswini Dayyamma is in the character of Chandni.
