Where Is Sekhar Krishnamoorthy Now?

From surviving the trauma of losing two kids to creating the Association of The Victims of Uphaar Tragedy, Sekhar Krishnamoorthy has been with his wife through thick and thin. He is not very social but he is still actively working alongside his wife. He still recalls the day when his kids didn’t return home, learning the fact that Unnati and Ujjawal died in the outrageous fire tragedy, which shattered him apart. We last heard from the couple around the beginning of 2022. Sekhar Krishnamoorthy initially had an established business but ever since he lost his kids, his wife has been devoted to the court case, and seeing her wife devastated he couldn’t leave her alone. 

A few of their friends and relatives suggested they should shift, probably settle down somewhere abroad. But leaving all the victims of the case alone didn’t feel right to them, they were not merely seeking justice for their kids but they also wanted to fight for all those individuals who lost their lives in the tragic accident. Were Sekhar And Neelam Krishnamoorthy Satisfied With The Final Wordings Of The Court?

The culprits, the Ansal brothers, the direct owners of Uphaar Cinema hall tried a lot to play the cards of money and power. They surely tried their best to buy all those families who would be facing the aftermath of the Uphaar tragedy for a lifetime. Initially, in the year 2015, the Ansals were ordered to pay a compensation of 30 crores to all the families who have been a victim of this tragic accident. Considering their age and health issues, the court also decided to reduce their imprisonment but the members of AVUT continued to voice up against the court’s final verdict.

More than 20 years passed by but it was not until November 2021, that the two were sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. Neelam and Sekhar Krishnamoorthy initially lost their hopes in the legal system, they were heavily shocked by the verdict of 2015 and that’s why they decided to stretch the case beyond. Despite constant attempts, last year the main culprits of the case were released from jail and the couple was highly disappointed with the legal system prevalent in India.

The Cinema hall still stands in the same place and the horrific tragedy is still remembered by hundreds! The epic book is now going to be a Netflix series, starring Abhay Deol and Rajshri Deshpande.
