Dance India Dance is an Indian reality show based on dance. The show first premiered on the 30th of January 2009. The show is open to every citizen and holds auditions in every metropolitan city in the country to widen its reach.
The show has been extremely popular from the very beginning and has set a stage for talented dancers irrespective of their dance form all across the country. It is also the show that brought our favorite dancers cum choreographers like Raghav Juyal, Punit Pathak, Dharmesh Yelande, and Shakti Mohan into the industry.
Dance India Dance Audition 2022 And Season 8 Release Date
The exact dates for the audition are yet not been announced but online registration for the same will begin in December 2022. It is suggested you keep yourself updated on Zee TV’s website www.zee5.com.
Like every year the audition will be conducted in prime cities like Guwahati, Bhuvneshwar, Ranchi, Patna, Dehradun, Kolkata, Jaipur, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bangalore, Delhi, Indore, Ahmedabad, and of course Mumbai.
The release date for the 8th season of the reality show is not announced yet either. But if we are to go by the release of the previous season, that is, the 7th season it was released on the 22nd of June 2019 so maybe the 8th season would be released in the June of 2023.
The release date will most probably be announced after the auditions for the same are over, that is after they have summed up all the eligible contestants for the season.

Dance India Dance Concept and Format
Like every other dance reality show, it follows a format of audition and elimination. The show first holds auditions in multiple parts of the country where dancers with unique styles and talents come together to compete against one another so as to be shortlisted for the show.
Once you’ve been selected in the audition round, they’re supposed to indulge themselves in a mega-audition round were after all the performances the judges analyze and select the top 18 to 20 contestants.
After clearing the mega-audition, the format becomes really straightforward, every contestant comes onto the stage and performs with the week’s theme in mind. They get votes from the audience and scores from the judges who decide their standing amongst the other participants and the one with the least of scores and votes ends up being evicted from the show.
Then by the semi-final episode, 5 of the best dancers are rounded off and made to compete against each other to leave only 3 by the Grand Finale episode. The Grand Finale has nothing to do with the judge’s scores, that is the audience vote is what decides the winner.
Dance India Dance Judges and Winners
The show initially had a format of head judge and judge to which they generally referred to as a Grand Master and Master. For the first season, we had Mithun Chakraborty as the Grand Master and Terrence Lewis, Geeta Kapoor, and Remo D’Souza as Masters.
Later on, in the show we came across multiple other judges namely, Mudassar Khan, Shruti Merchant, Feroz Khan, Gaiti Siddiqui, Punit Pathak, Mini Pradhan, and Marzi Pestonji.
The last season of the series had celebrity judges come by who were not known to the world as dancers but rather as actors or rappers. But that does not deny the fact that they are good dancers. So, the judges for the 7th season of the show were Kareena Kapoor Khan, Raftaar, and Bosco Martis.
Coming to the list of winners the first season was won by Salman Yusuff Khan who was a part of Remo D’Souza’s film ABCD. The second season was won by Shakti Mohan who currently is a judge on Star Plus’s reality dance show Dance Plus.
Then we have Rajasmita Kar as the winner of the third season, Shyam Yadav as the winner of the fourth, Proneeta Swargiary as the winner of the fifth, Sanket GAonkar as the winner of the sixth, and Unreal Crew as the winner of the seventh season.
