Was Jeffrey Dahmer Baptized Before He Died?

Ever heard of the word Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster? Those are the terms referred to Jeffrey Dahmer, who was an American serial killer and also a sex offender. He was sentenced to life imprisonment on February 17, 1992, for fifteen terms. The reason for this is the fifteen murders that he committed. Between years 1978 and 1991, he murdered seventeen men and boys. Jeffrey Dahmer was gay in sexuality but was made to hate gay people by his family and society then, which also was a reason for the mental disorders he suffered. He was also a cannibal and also used to preserve the body parts of the people he killed.

The first murder he did was of a boy for whom he had a sort of affection. He killed him brutally and then dissected his body parts. He buried his body in his backyard. After a few weeks, he took his body out and separated his flesh from his bones. He dissolved the flesh in some acid and when it was completely dissolved, he flushed it down the toilet. He crushed the bones and scattered them behind his home.

Some sources report Dahmer was deprived of attention from his parents. Even his teachers have confirmed that early signs of abandonment were seen in him. They also noticed Dahmer an energetic and happy child turning quiet and timid. It is widely known that Jeffrey Dahmer was an Evangelical Christian. In many reports, people are startled by how was he an Evangelical. Jeffrey Dahmer’s family favored the Church of Christ denomination. A fact known about this denomination is that it was extremely racist and segregated churches and seminaries throughout the 1960s.

Jeffrey Dahmer was a racist, he also referred to black people with racist slurs. Jeffrey Dahmer was gay. But his family and their society then raised him to be anti-gay. His sexuality was explained as a Satanic force to him. So instead of approaching men for relationships, he started to kill them. He also read occult literature and also wanted to build an altar that would feature the bones of his victims.

Jeffrey Dahmer was transferred to the Columbia Correctional Institution. He was first placed in solitary confinement due to his physical safety. After one year, with Dahmer’s consent, he was transferred to a less secure unit, where he was assigned the daily task of cleaning the toilet block for two hours. After completing his lengthy confessions in 1991, Dahmer requested Detective Murphy that he be given a copy of the Bible. His request was granted and he was given the Bible. Dahmer then gradually devoted himself to Christianity and became a born-again Christian again.

Even after baptism, Ratcliff visited Dahmer till November 1994 on a weekly basis. They both used to discuss the prospect of death. Dahmer used to question Ratcliff whether he was sinning against God by continuing to live. On July 3, 1994, an inmate of Jeffrey Dahmer, Osvaldo Durruthy, attempted to slash Dahmer’s throat with a razor that was embedded in a toothbrush. This happened when Dahmer was sitting in the prison chapel after the weekly church service was concluded.

I’m looking forward to it and counting on it.”  The baptism took place on May 10, 1994, in the prison by Roy Ratcliff, a minister in the Church of Christ and a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University.

It was done in the whirlpool of the prison which was used by disabled prisoners. The priest Ratcliff then exclaimed,” Welcome to the Family of God”.
