The Equalizer was first a television series that originally aired on CBS on September 18, 1985, and ended on August 24, 1989. This television series was co-created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim.

The Equalizer’s 1980 series was an action-packed spy thriller series. This series was rebooted twice with the same concept into 2 movies which were released in 2014 and 2018. The Equalizer premiered on September 7, 2014, at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival and was released on September 26, 2014, in theatres. It is a vigilante action film. This film got mixed reviews from the audience who were not that convinced with the depictions of violence and plot. The Equalizer 2 which was the second film in the franchise was released on July 20, 2018. It is also a vigilante action film. This film also got mixed reviews as the audience liked Washington’s acting but were disappointed with the way they created several subplots and the pacing they showed in the film.

The Equalizer Series is of 3 seasons with 29 episodes in total. The series released its first episode of season 1 on February 7, 2021, which comprised 10 episodes. Season 2 comprises 18 episodes, its first episode released on October 10, 2021. Season 3 is ongoing and premiered on October 2, 2022, on CBS with all future episodes premiering on Sundays. On May 2022, there was an official announcement regarding the release of new seasons of Equalizer where the senior executive vice president of programming at the CBS Entertainment department confirmed that there will be two more seasons of The Equalizer i.e., Season 3 and Season 4 will surely release. If any official announcements or updates regarding season 4’s release date are out we will update the same.

The Equalizer- movie series is getting its sequel titled The Equalizer 3 which will be released on September 1, 2023, with Washington again as the main lead.

The Equalizer Season 4 Story

The story of The Equalizer Season 4 will be the continuation of season 3. If we look back at all the season’s ends, we can predict that they will be ending season 3 in some sort of cliffhanger to keep the audience engaged and then release season 4 with the continuation.

The series revolves around Robyn McCall who is the protagonist. Her character is nothing but the iteration of the 80’s TV series and the movie’s main leads. She is a single mother who lives with her aunt and raising her daughter. But she is also living another life where she is an undercover trying to help people find vigilante justice. By the end of season 1, her aunt and her daughter, Delilah come to know about her being undercover. She then decides to end working as The Equalizer but is pulled back with a new case of finding a group of robbers.

The main cast of all the seasons of The Equalizer includes Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall and “The Equalizer”, Adam Goldberg as Harry Keshegian, Tory Kittles as Marcus Dante, Liza Lapira as Melody Bayani, Lorraine Toussaint as Viola Marsette who is Robyn’s aunt, Laya DeLeon Hayes as Delilah.

There were some recurring casts too. Chris Noth as William Bishop, and Erica Camarano as Detective Paley were in both seasons 1 and 2. Christopher Noth being one of the important characters in The Equalizer series would not be seen in any further series because of him facing allegations of sexual assault in December 2021.
