The first part of the film was about Jordan Belfort who is employed under Mark Hanna as a Wall Street stockbroker for L.F. Rothschild. He befriends his neighbor Donnie they then fell in love and got married. He becomes immensely successful and slides into a life of prostitutes and drugs. He divorces his wife and marries another woman with whom he was having an affair. The FBI turns suspicious of Jordan’s work and starts gathering pieces of evidence against him. Knowing this, Jordan opens a Swiss bank account in the name of his wife’s aunt and transfers $22 million in illegal money into that account. His friend Brad gets arrested. In 1996, the yacht in which he was traveling capsizes in a storm. He tries to sober up his drug addiction. In 1998, Jordan agrees to gather evidence against his colleagues in return asks for leniency. His wife asks for a divorce and full custody of their children. Jordan in rage hits her and tries to flee away with his daughter but his car crashes. Later he gets arrested and sentenced to jail for 22 months and is released in 2000.
