17 Indian Celebrities Who Are Not On Social Media!

When social media was newly introduced, people flocked to create accounts and establish their presence on it. Slowly, more and more social media websites developed and people created more accounts so as to not feel left behind. Now, people have their accounts on many popular websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and many others. What started out as a means to establish and foster connections between people has now grown into a big community on its own. Initially, people used to flock to social media to connect and chat with their dear ones and through the power of the internet, social media websites have made it possible to establish friendships with people, not just from another city but even from another country.

But now, social media websites have become more than just a means of communication and connection. Through social media, we can do a lot more than simply chat, we can play games, learn, read interesting information and other people’s opinions, stay updated on the current events from around the world, watch other people’s creativity as well as share our own talents. We can even connect and get a peek into the lives of our favorite celebrities on social media!

Social media has become so important that it is difficult for us to imagine a day without it. When we post pictures of ourselves or share anything, we are eager to know how many people liked our pictures or content and how people have responded to it. We think of going on a digital detox but in the end, keep on coming back to it. In such a case, we wonder how some people manage to go on detox so easily and successfully.

Social media is an integral part of a celebrity’s life as well. Celebrities share their daily lives with their fans, share updates on their upcoming ventures, connect with their fans and respond to their questions and they even act as influencers for their fans by giving them advice, doing paid collaborations and promotions of various products and reviewing brands and products for their fans. Social media, thus, has also become a means of alternative income for celebrities. Sometimes, the online presence of an actor also helps him/her in bagging roles as it worked for Neena Gupta for ‘Badhaai Ho’. Even TV actors have often complained of discrimination based on followers and social media presence, as they missed out on roles because they did not have a lot of followers. Thus, social media presence is important for a celebrity.

Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Mira Rajput Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Alia Bhatt, Neha Dhupia, Lara Dutta Bhupathi, etc have established a strong social media presence and are highly active on social media sharing daily updates and a glimpse of their lives with their fans.

However, there are also negative aspects to social media. Celebrities are always in the eyes of the public and their activities and opinions are often trolled. Anonymous social media presence has made cyberbullying much easier and thus, there has been a lot of toxicity towards actors, no matter what they do or say. Thus, there are some Indian celebrities who have chosen to stay away from a social media presence and keep their activities to themselves.

He believes that the platform of films is the biggest platform for him and hence, does not wish to engage with people on another platform.
