O’Brien relocated to Los Angeles after receiving his Harvard degree and joined the “Not Necessarily the News” writing staff on HBO. He performed with improvisational teams like the Groundlings on his own time. “Saturday Night Live” writing staff after joining in January 1988. Conan and his family resided in a duplex flat with a view of Central Park while he hosted “Late Night” from New York City. The family secretly listed the wholly furnished apartment for $30 million as they got ready to relocate to Los Angeles. The house went for $25 million in July 2010.
Conan spent $10.75 million to buy a home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, after moving there from New York to take over “The Tonight Show” in 2008. He lost $1.5 million when he sold the mansion in June 2012 for $9.25 million. Conan and his wife purchased a brand-new estate in the adjacent Pacific Palisades in 2011 for $19.4 million.
