Anupama first premiered on 13 July 2022 on Star Plus and Disney+ Hotstar, produced by Deepa and Rajan Shahi. Based on a Bengali show “Sreemoyee” that was aired on Star Jalsha. The direction by Romesh Kalra and the writing by Bhavna Vyas managed to attract the viewers and a lot of TRP as it was the 7th most watched Hindi show, since its first episode Anupama has had a great rating by BARC. The show has made many changes in the life of Anupama and tends to focus on every aspect of a middle-class family, the love story of Anupama and Anuj and the problems created by Vanraj are recurring things on the show, but according to many fans on social media sites the creators ruins the show by focusing more on the side characters and a lot of the fans are dissatisfied with the plot, a while back there was even a hashtag going on the social media “#StopruiningAnupama” by the fans to let the creators know their rage and everything.
All the bad media made everyone feel that Anupama is at an end now, but it doesn’t seem like it because the show has been getting a good TRP and there was not any news about the show Anupama ending. However, there was news that Paras Kalnawat who plays the role of Samar Shah is going to leave the show and another actor Sagar Parekh has already replaced him, a lot of the fans think that Sagar Parekh is not able to capture the charm and bubbly personality of Paras Kalnawat but Sagar Parekh has just started so it will be exciting to see him indulge into the character of Samar Shah more deeply. So eventually Anupama is not coming to an end as of right now, and it will be fascinating to see the twists and turns in Anupama and Anuj’s newly married life.

Anupama has both an experienced and a fresh cast, every actor no matter the negative character or positive will leave an essence when the fans watch the show. The main character Aupama Shah is a homely woman who is simple, kind, and naive. She is a great mother, wife, and daughter-in-law, but her life suddenly changes when her husband Vanraj Shah, a businessman, decides to leave her for another woman. Anupama decides to change her life and turn her passion into something else, her journey is empowering to say the least. Anupama is played by Rupali Ganguly who is popular for her role in shows such as Sanjivani, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, and Parvarrish- Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi along with films such as Angaara, Do Aankhen Barah Haath and Saaheb. Anuj Kapadia is a rather new addition to Anupama’s life. He is a business tycoon and his love for Aunpama is old from his college days, he loves and treats the family members of Anupama as her own. Anuj recently got married to Anupama and they both decides to adopt a child and ended up adopting Anu. The role of Anuj Kapadia is played by Gaurav Khanna he has worked on shows such as CID, Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam, Kumkum- Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, and Meri Doli Tere Angana.
Vanraj Shah is the main antagonist of the show, he looks down on Anupama and cheats on her when he had an affair with Kavya, but when it comes to divorcing Anupama he realizes that he doesn’t want to leave her. Vanraj Shah is always in some game to make Anupama and Anuj fall out, he also lies to have another marital affair, after leaving Anupama he is on the verge to destroy her but always ends up destroying himself. Sudhanshu Pandey is the actor of Vanraj Shah, Sudhanshu Pandey is famous for being in a boy band called ” A Band of Boys” but after the disbanding of the group he tried his luck in acting and has worked in Tamil movies such as Billa ll, Meaghamann, and Indrajith but he gained popularity from Anupama. Kavya Gandhi is the woman Vanraj cheats on Anupama with, she is a greedy and two-faced woman, who is always down to humiliate Anupama. Even after knowing the marriage of Vanraj to Anupama, she continues the relationship and when they both finally get divorced, Kavya marries Vanraj. Kavya Gandhi Shah is played by Madalsa Sharma Chakraborty, she has worked in many movies in various languages like Telugu movies Fitting Master and Aalysam Amrutyam, Kannada movie Shaurya, and a Bollywood movie Angel, Anupama is the first television role of Madalsa Sharma Chakraborty.

Samar Shah is the son of Anupama and Vanraj Shah. He always supports Anupama despite the whole family saying bad things about her, he accepts Anuj and Anupama and does not like his father, he shares a passion for dance. Samar Shah is played by Paras Kalnawat who is famous for shows such as Meri Durga, Dil hi to hai, Ishq Aaj Aur Kal, and Mariam Khan Reporting Live. When Paras Kalnawat decides to leave the show Sagar Parekh replaces him who is popular for shows such as Balika Vadhu 2, Internet Wala Love, Tera Yaar Hoon Main, and Raja Beta. Paritosh Shah is the eldest son of Anupama and Vanraj Shah, Paritosh does not really support Anupama and her decisions, he always opposes her but after some consideration decides to support her, he is more leaned toward his father, and it takes a second to show the true colours. Paritosh Shah is played by Ashish Mehrotra, he has earlier worked in Ishq Main Mar Jawan, Paanch, Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, and Dahleez.
Pakhi Shah is the youngest and only daughter of Anupama and Vanraj Shah. Pakhi also doesn’t really support her mother and is rather impressionable, she chooses to live with his father after the divorce of her parents but soon realizes the worth, she is always on a plan to humiliate Anupama consciously or subconsciously. Pakhi Shah is played by Muskan Bamne; she has worked on movies such as Helicopter Eela and Haseen Parker; she has also been on television shows such as Super Sisters and Bakula Bua ka Bhoot. Baa or Leela Shah is the mother-in-law of Anupama Shah she is also another person on the long list of people who likes to look down upon Anupama, she eventually supports her instead of her son but also does not shy away from showing her true colours. Leela Shah or Baa is played by Alpana Buch, she has worked on Gujarati television mainly, and she has also worked on Papad Pol, Saraswatichandra, and Baal Veer.
Bapuji or Hasmukh Shah is the father-in-law of Anupama, he treats Anupama just like her own daughter and always supports her even if the whole family is against her, he supports Anupama in everything ranging from the divorce to the marriage of Anupama and Anuj. Hasmukh Shah or Bapuji is played by Arvind Vaidya who has previously worked on Saas Bina Sasural, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, and movies such Khichdi: The movie and Gumnaam: The movie.
