Who Is Rupa Rani Tirkey?
Rupa Rani Tirkey was born in Jharkhand, India on 27 September 1987, and plays lawn bowls. She has been getting her training for a long time now. Rupa Rani Tirkey won a gold medal at the commonwealth games 2022, along with her team members Lovely Choubey, Nayanamoni Saikia and Pinki Singh. She has previously shown her skills at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championship and has won three bronze medals by far, she represented India at the Asian Lawn Bowls Championship and has won two bronze and one silver medal by far. Rupa Rani Tirkey has played at four commonwealth games till now, but this is the first time when India reached the finals, the Indian team defeated South Africa in the finals, by 17-10. Rupa Rani Tirkey is coached by Madhukant Patak and has been representing India at the international level since 2009.

Rupa Rani Tirkey has shown her skills at the Asian Lawn Bowls Championship and won a bronze medal in the year 2014, and a bronze and silver medal at the 2018 Asian Lawn Bowls championship, she was also selected at the 2020 World Outdoor Championship that was held in Australia. In the year 2019 Rupa Rani Tirkey won a bronze medal at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championship that was held in Gold Coast, Queensland, she has three bronze medals at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championship. India At Commonwealth Games 2022
India is playing at the Commonwealth games for the 18th time now, the games began on 28 July, and will go on till 8th August, the games are being held in Birmingham, England. India is playing 16 games at the Commonwealth Games, and 106 men and 104 women from India are competing at the Commonwealth Games. Badminton player P.V Sindhu and hockey player Manpreet Singh were the flag bearers at the Commonwealth games 2022. The first medal was won by Sanket Sargar in weightlifting he won a silver medal. Anahat Singh is the youngest player at the age of 14, and Sunil Bahadur is the oldest player at the age of 45 at the Commonwealth Games 2022. India is competing in 16 games that are Badminton, Weightlifting, Lawn Bowls, Athletics, Cricket, Boxing, Cycling, Swimming, Hockey, Gymnastics, Squash, Judo, Table Tennis, Para Powerlifting, Triathlon, and last but not least wrestling and a total of 210 players are representing India, at the Commonwealth Games 2022. India has won a total of 13 medals so far in games such as Weightlifting, Judo, Lawn Bowls, Table Tennis, and Badminton.
India has won three gold medals in Weightlifting by Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, Jeremy Lalrinnunga, and Achinta Sheuli, three silver medals in Weightlifting by Sanket Sargar, Bindyarani Devi, and Vikas Thakur, and two bronze medals by Gururaja Poojarey and Harjinder Kaur. India has won one gold medal in Table Tennis by a team that consists of Harmeet Desai, Sanil Shetty, Sharath Achanta, Sathiyan, and Gnanasekaran. Sushila Likmabam and Vijay Kumar Yadav won silver and bronze medals in Judo and the team Badminton that consists of P.V Sindhu, Srikanth Kidambi, Satwiksairaj, Gayathri Gopichand, Rankireddy Treesa Jolly, B Sumeeth Reddy, Chirag Shetty, Lakshya Sen, Aakarshi Kashyap, and Ashwini Ponnappa won a silver medal, along with the Lawn Bowls team of Rupa Rani Tirkey, Pinki Singh, Lovely Choubey, and Nayanmoni Saikia that won a gold medal.
