If You Wish Upon Me is an upcoming South Korean series. The series is also known by the names If You Say Your Wish and Tell Me Your Wish. The show is written by Jo Ryeong-Soo and directed by Kim Yong-Wan. The show has an estimated budget of 10 billion won (Korean Currency) and further details about the episodes are yet to be released. The show will follow the story of a young man who was brought up in an orphanage. The young man is also an ex-convict, who has spent time in prison and is constantly suffering with his life. Somehow, he ends up working in a hospital and gets involved with ‘Team Genie’, a group that grants the last wishes of patients before they die. He works with the team leader and a cheerful nurse, to help the patients leave the world with a happy and relaxed smile.
The drama is inspired by a very inspirational and heartwarming real-life foundation in the Netherlands, namely the Ambulance Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of terminally ill patients. If You Wish Upon Me is also popular for its cast. With the K2 and Suspicious partner actor Ji Chang Wook, SNSD’s popular idol Choi Soo-Young and one of the most entertaining and talented actors, Sung Dong-Il, will be seen taking the lead in the series, along with many other supporting cast with great working experience. In the teaser, we see the different expressions of the lead cast, who seem to look like they have been suffering a lot. - Ji Chang Wook will be appearing as Yoon Gyeo-Ree, a disheartened young man, who is struggling hard to survive in the world and has been through a lot. He enters a hospital as a volunteer, thinking of it as the last chance of bringing change to his life.
- Sung Dong-Il will appear as Kang Tae-Shik, a man who has lost his meaning to life and leads a team which grants wishes to people who are on their deathbeds. He is aware of all the happenings in the hospital.
- Choi Soo-Young will appear as Seo Yeon-Joo, a nurse working in the hospital, who helps the team in their job. She has a cheerful and loving nature.
- Won Ji-An will appear as Ha Joon-Kyung, a woman who is close to Yoon Gyeo-Ree, and thinks of him as her everything.
- Park Jin-Joo will appear as Se-Hee.
- Yang Hee-Kyung will appear as Yeom Soon-Ja, a member of the volunteer team.
- Gil Hae-Yeon will appear as Choi Deok-Ja, a hardworking woman in her 70’s who worked as a building cleaner.
- Yoo Soon-Woong as Hwang Cha-Young, a man who works with Deok-Ja.
- Jeon Chae-Eun will appear as Yoo Seo-Jin, the youngest and a teen member of the volunteer group.
