Given that the Polish film and T.V. sector is experiencing a new boom thanks to talent and tax incentives, the global streamer chose Warsaw as the location for its new regional center for Central and Eastern Europe. When Netflix confirmed earlier this year that it had chosen Poland as its most recent regional headquarters — the company’s new Warsaw office will serve as a center for the streamer’s operations throughout Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and is scheduled to debut in late 2022 — the decision seemed apparent. Netflix has committed more than $110 million (490 million PLN) in exclusive programs since it began operating in Poland in 2016. These include the criminal drama The Woods, student comedy Sexify, and popular genre fare like historical investigative Operation Hyacinth and Nobody Sleeps in the Pit. From the criminal drama How I Fell in Love With a Gangster to the sensual NSFW series 365 Days, whose most recent installment, 365 Days: This Day, debuted on the service on April 27, Woods Tonight is described as the “first Polish slasher movie” in history.
According to Anna Nagler, director of native originals for CEE at Netflix, the company’s production investment has generated at least 2,600 employment in Poland, making it an important market for the CEE area. “Now is the right time to strengthen our relationships with our members or creative partners, given the rising volume of original Polish material. The opening of the Netflix office in Warsaw is a logical progression for the Polish economy in terms of developing new alliances, strengthening current ones, and opening up new prospects. Here is the list of the 17 best polish series on Netflix that you must try atleat once.
1. Ultraviolet
Marta Nieradkiewicz, Agata Kulesza, and Sebastian Fabijaski are the prominent cast members of the Polish-language television series Ultraviolet. A thirty-year-old female (Ola Serafin) who must return to her home of ód serves as the story’s center. She decides to join a team of online amateur investigators that take on unsolved cases after witnessing a strange incident one evening.
On AXN, the first season debuted on October 25, 2017. The start of second season started on October 2, 2019. Wojtek Urbaski and Justyna Wis wrote and performed the theme tune. 2. DNA
DNA is a crime drama with a tragic human story at its center. Investigator Rolf Larsen works at Copenhagen’s Vestegnens Police Department (Anders W. Berthelsen). His wife, Maria, who recently gave birth to a daughter Andrea, is returning to work as a hostess. When Maria departs for training in London, she regretfully leaves Andrea in Rolf’s care. Rolf tells her that they would be okay because the babysitter will be arriving to assist him. However, just when Rolf is anticipating spending some time alone with his child, work calls: Minna, an 11-month-old child, was taken from a preschool in Bradby. Rolf believes the timing is essential and publishes her photo to the media against the desires of his superiors. The image garners attention across Europe, and after receiving a tip from Poland, Rolf decides to approach a witness who alleges to have seen Minna. Rolf chooses to bring his young daughter to Poland because the fresh babysitter is stuck in Jutland owing to the storm and the weather.
3. Open Your Eyes
Netflix’s Polish suspenseful thriller series Open Your Eyes is adapted on Katarzyna Berenika Miszczuk’s 2013 book Druga szansa. The human brain is a significant mystery. It manipulates our consciousness, leading us to believe falsehoods. Or occasionally, even when they are accurate, we mistakenly think they have been not. The central theme of the Polish science fantasy thriller Open Your Eyes on Netflix is the razor-thin border between reality and delusion. The television series “Open Your Eyes” is inspired on Katarzyna Berenika Miszczuk’s book “Druga szansa.” The series, which has six 40-minute episodes, is narrated by Anna Jadowska & Adrian Panek. 4. 1983
A Polish crime drama television series 1983 was created for Netflix and debuted on their platform on November 30, 2018. The series, developed and written by Joshua Long, is set in a different historical period in which the communist Polish People’s Republic never fell, and the Iron Curtain is still in place. Long and Maciej Music came up with the original idea for the story. It is the first original Polish series on Netflix. The series took place in 2003; in 1983, a coordinated terrorist attack on several locations in Poland changed the course of history. The Cold War never ended, and the Iron Curtain has existed. An investigation by Milicja Obywatelska agent Anatol (Robert Wickiewicz) and law student Kajetan (Maciej Music) reveals a plot that has the potential to spark a revolution.

5. Sick Of It
A British comedy-drama tv series called Sick of It debuted on Sky One on September 27, 2018. Karl Pilkington & Richard Yee were the authors and creators (who filmed the series). Pilkington plays his namesake Karl and the voice in his head that assumes the appearance of his Doppelgänger in the starring roles. The show centers on Karl, a bored taxi driver who moved in with his ailing American aunt Norma after being rejected by his fiancée Zoe and is trying to put his life back together. The unfiltered, honest Karl expresses his opinions without fear of upsetting people. The voice in Karl’s head frequently surfaces as he works to move past the breakup and organize his life, guiding, criticizing, and dispensing his unconventional philosophy of life. An Idiot Abroad and Also the Moaning of Life were co-written by Pilkington and Yee in 2009. The first written project they worked on together was Sick of It. The program’s second season was ordered, debuting in January 2020. The second series would probably be the last, Pilkington said in a March 2020 interview with Lorraine Kelly on Lorraine. Every episode of the show features Pilkington as its two main characters. Sondra James plays his American Aunt Norma. The early 1980s events of The Mire’s sequel, The Mire ’97, are picked up nearly a decade and a half later on Netflix. 7. Partison
Five 45–48 minute episodes of the Swedish T.V. crime/drama/thriller series Partisan are available on Walter Presents U.K. Guidance. Swedish with embedded English subtitles. The premise is that the story takes place in the tranquil surroundings of Jordnära, a planned community with a flourishing organic farm. In the television show, a man accepts a job offer and quickly discovers their peculiar procedures and rules. 8. Signs
Helena Sujecka, Andrzej Konopka, and Micha Czernecki are the stars of the 2018 Polish crime-thriller tv show Signs. The story is set in the Owl Mountains, in the fictitious town of Sowie Doy. Commissioner Micha Trela, who eventually relocated to Sowie Doy with his daughter, assumes charge of the town police when a woman is found killed at a lake close to a nearby mine. In the investigation, connections between earlier years emerge that relate to the recent shooting and a student who was murdered a few years prior but whose case never was solved.
9. Cracow Monsters
Based on Polish legend, the Netflix original supernatural thriller Cracow Monsters is set in Poland. Olga Chajdas and Kasia Adamik are the show’s directors. It was authored by Magdalena Lankosz, Gaja Grzegorzewska, and Anna Sienska. The show premiered on Netflix on March 18, 2022. A young woman from Kraków with an unexplained past joins a group of medical students investigating paranormal crimes under a mysterious professor’s direction. When imbibing heavily and searching the crowd for a male partner for the evening? Female? Alexsandra (Barbara Liberek), still undecided, notices a man sprawled at the bar and heavily hitting the sauce. She says, “Only med students drink like that,” and “Lucky” (Stach Linowski) rapidly develops a friendship with Alex, a forensic pathology student. Due to a severe vehicle accident she had as a child, Alex experiences a reoccurring dream—possibly part waking nightmare—about a faceless phantom pinning her to the bed. She self-medicates with alcohol, marijuana, or sex — whatever is available and covers herself in heavy sweatshirts and trenchcoats before heading out to a university exam in the pouring rain. It turns out that Lucky works as a university employee for the renowned. Polish sex comedies Kalia Alabrudziska and Piotr Domalewski created the online series Sex!fy. The main protagonists are played by Sandra Drzymalska, Aleksandra Skraba, and Maria Sobociska. Eight episodes made up the show’s first season, debuting on Netflix on April 29, 2021. The show’s season 2 is slated to release in 2022. Because it discusses sexuality in an educational context, Sexify has been referred to as “Poland’s response to Sex Education,” a British Netflix series. Given that it ranked in the top 10 on Netflix in 80 different countries, the series has been hailed as an international triumph in English-language media. Natalia (Alexandra Skraba), Paulina (Maria Sobociska), and Monika (Sandra Drzymalska), three college students, hope to win the contest for the most significant start-up. 11. The Thaw
A Russian television program called The Thaw made its premiere in 2013. With it, Valery Todorovsky made his T.V. directing debut. Viktor Khrustalyov, a cameraman, is in a challenging position since he is accused of being responsible for the death of Kostya Parshin, a gifted screenwriter who committed suicide after a drinking binge. By every means necessary, the government tries to imprison Khrustalyov. To make the movie “Shards” based on the fantastic idea his deceased screenwriter friend left him, Viktor tries to attack the comedy “The Girl and the Brigadier.” Yegor Myachin, a new director, intends to interpret this script. For a comedy, Khrustalyov sets him up as a trainee for the legendary filmmaker Krivitsky. The former spouse of Khrustalev, Inga, and his youthful sweetheart Maryana, with someone whom Yegor Myachin is indeed in love, appear in the same movie.
12. Jack Irish
An Australian drama series Jack Irish debuted on ABC TV on October 14, 2012. Guy Pearce plays the title character in the show and is a former criminal defense attorney turned private eye and debt collector. A large portion of the action occurs in Fitzroy, a district of Melbourne. The telemovies & series Jack Irish were created by Andrew Anastasios, Matt Cameron, and Andrew Knight and were based on Peter Temple’s crime fiction books. They started as three full-length films, then turned into three six-episode television series, the last of which will premiere in June 2021. While Kieran Darcy-Smith is the series’ primary director, Jeffrey Walker directed all three films. The first of three full-length films, Bad Debts, was the sixth-most viewed show of the week with an average of 950,000 Australian viewers. The second film, Black Tide, ranked as the thirteenth most viewed show of the week with an average audience of 851,000 Australians. An average of 780,000 Australian people watched the third and final film, Dead Point, making it the eleventh most viewed show of the week.
The first six episodes aired from February 11 through March 17, 2016. The second season aired from July 8 to August 12, 2018. The second season was devoted to Peter Temple, who passed away in March 2018. Jack Irish: Hell Bent, the third and final installment, debuted on ABC TV and ABC on June 13, 2021.

13. The Prisoner
The Prisoner is indeed a 1967 British tv show about an anonymous British intelligence operative who is kidnapped and held captive in a mystery coastal village. His captors refer to him as Number Six and attempt to determine why he suddenly resigned. As Number Six, Patrick McGoohan portrayed the main character. McGoohan is credited with creating the series, with potential assistance from George Markstein. The initial airings of the series took place in Canada starting on September 6, 1967, in the U.K. on September 29, and in the U.S. on June 1, 1968. Despite being marketed as a thriller in the vein of McGoohan’s earlier series Danger Man, the show’s 1960s countercultural concepts and surrealistic setting significantly impacted science fiction and fantasy television as well as narrative pop culture in general. The T.V. series has gained a cult following since its debut. In Nov 2009, a six-part television miniseries version premiered on the U.S. cable network AMC. Big Finish Productions reimagined the show as an audiobook in 2016.
14. World On Fire
Peter Bowker is the author of the British war television drama World on Fire. On PBS, the first season premiered in 2019 in the U.K. and in 2020 in the U.S. The BBC has ordered a season 2 of the show.
During World War II, the series explores the secret lives of ordinary folk from Britain, Poland, France, Germany, and the United States. The drama alternates between various France, Britain, Germany, and Poland settings for its sequences. Repeated trips to Paris, Warsaw, Manchester, Berlin, and Dunkirk are included.
Season two will dig it up where the first left off, per a PBS article. Still, as of May 2020, there was no information on when it would air in the U.S. Writer/creator Peter Bowker provided the following advice: There will be a meeting between Kasia and Lois, and I believe that the consequences will be both exciting and interesting to everyone. Historical speaking, Season 2 will begin with the blitz in the North West of England. Additionally, the battleground will primarily be in North Africa. We will learn more about Webster’s ancestry. Near the beginning of the series, Nancy will finally be forced to leave Berlin due to transgressing a moral boundary, and we will also learn more about Nancy. And she’ll keep going. Without a doubt, she will be in the Soviet Union.

15. The Knick
The Knick is a Steven Soderbergh-helmed American medical historical drama television program that airs on Cinemax. Jack Amiel and Michael Begler produced it. The early twentieth-century personnel of a fictionalized Knickerbocker Hospital in New York is followed throughout the series, along with Dr. John W. Thackery (Clive Owen). 16. Into The Night
The Old Axolotl by Jacek Dukaj, a science fiction novel published in 2015 in Poland, served as the inspiration for Jason George’s Belgian post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama thriller television series Into the Night. On May 1, 2020, the Netflix original series made its debut. It is the first Belgian-made original series on Netflix. The show received a second season renewal from Netflix on July 1, 2020. The new season debuted on September 8, 2021, and Yakamoz S-245, a Turkish-language spin-off with a submarine setting, debuted on April 20, 2022. The first season centers on a group of passengers on a red-eye trip from Brussels when their plane is hijacked. The hijacker, Terenzio (Cassetti), is an Italian NATO officer. He tries to ram himself into the commercial airliner and demands a quick takeoff. The few passengers in the aircraft are now among the survivors of a terrible global catastrophe brought on by sunlight exposure. The plane heads west to avoid this tragedy, which destroys all living things throughout the day. To keep the sun behind them, the team comprised of Mathieu (Capelluto), the pilot, and Sylvie (Pauline Étienne), a passenger, must cooperate. In their haste to access an underground military bunker, the crew must contend with fuel shortages, radioactive food, covert goals, and other issues. The remaining survivors in the second season clear a passage to a NATO bunker where they seek safety from the sun’s lethal beams. Together with the soldiers in the bunkers, they continue their struggle for survival while attempting to control a growing conflict and replenish the depleted supply of resources.
17. Hold Tight
A new Netflix series called HOLD TIGHT is believed to have been written by Harlan Coben. In other words, the criminal, thriller, drama, & mystery genres are once again prominent. Just like it is with all of these best-selling American author’s books. Topics like drug misuse, bullying, parental control, and brutality (of all kinds) are significant this time around. Additionally, it includes a few well-known actors from another Netflix adaptation, so if you’ve been watching the Netflix series The Woods by Harlan Coben, you’ll immediately recognize them. Even though there are deaths in Hold Tight, the primary focus is on recurring problems rather than murder. This new Netflix series by Harlan Coben explores themes like parental control (using spyware on their children’s devices) vs. children’s independence. Two items that contrast against one another, but not in a dramatic way soap opera.
Additionally, many more serious topics like drug misuse and teen suicide exist. Additionally, children may feel entirely abandoned by the adults who are expected to look after them. Finally, a large number of characters are used to cover these many varied issues. But don’t worry, Harlan Coben, who is excellent at regulating this, wrote the story on which this is based. That is something that this Netflix adaptation also conveys.
