The series takes place in a world where humans and superheroes, also termed as “Powers”, coexist. Christian Walker is a detective who was previously a superhero, before his powers were taken away. The group of five different individuals brought together by Chief investigate weird phenomena and protect Earth from the threats they are about to face.

The popular NBC series features the lives of people around the world who have special powers. They have the responsibility of saving mankind from various dangers and disasters and have to maintain and take care of their personal lives consecutively.

The series features the life of a normal teenager, Mark Grayson. His life is not as normal as it looks, as his father, Nolan, is the greatest superhero on the planet. Mark learns that he is slowly developing his powers after his seventeenth birthday, and Nolan trains him and helps him learn different ways to weld and control his powers. He meets many superheroes with unique quirks, like him, as he gets used to his powers.

The series features the story of Jessica Jones, a superhero who ends her brief career with a tragedy because of a villain named Killgrave, who made her kill someone. She now takes up the job of private detective trying to rebuild her life, and opens her agency at her apartment named Alias Investigations to help people while earning her pay. She comes across various cases involving people with special abilities and she has to fight her past in order to help the people who are in need of her help. She also has the responsibility to stop the mind-controlling villain, Killgrave, after he resurfaces.

6. Legion

Legion is a 2017 American psychological thriller horror superhero series. It has a total of 3 seasons and 25 episodes with an approximate runtime of 44 – 68 minutes. The series follows the story of David Halter, a schizophrenia patient who has been to various psychiatric hospitals since his illness was brought to light. Amy, her adoptive sister, admits him to a new hospital, where he meets a fellow patient and realises that he is not just a normal patient with mental illness after an unfortunate accident with his friend. Haller is hunted by the government agency Division 3, and a group of mutants, called Summerland, step up to save him, claiming him to be a mutant just like them. Haller slowly learns about his condition.

7. Misfits

Misfits is a 2009 British action black comedy supernatural superhero drama series. It has a total of 5 seasons and 37 episodes of approximately 45 minutes. The series follows the story of 5 delinquents named Nathan, Kelly, Simon, Alisha and Curtis, who are supposed to do boring community service, and are caught up in a storm. However, the storm is no ordinary storm, but a storm with supernatural energy. The delinquents realise that they are now able to wield different powers and their lives have just had a 180° turn. Confused and surprised, the teens slowly discover that they are not the only ones with superpowers and there are more people who were affected by the storm. Their relationships are affected, and many mishaps take place as the heroes try to learn to control their powers. Nathan seems to be the only one of the delinquents who has power but is yet to realise what it is.

8. No Heroics

No Heroics is a 2008 British Sitcom superhero series. It consists of one season and a total of 6 episodes of approximately 30 minutes each. No Heroics takes place in a reality where there are superheroes (Capes) coexisting with normal people. They usually appear in tight and bright, fancy costumes. Their existence is quite common in the public and they carry out different missions, save people, prevent disasters, etc, while doing everyday chores like grocery shopping, doing their laundry, taking a walk, having a smoke break, all of these in their costumes. The plot features the story of 4 old friends who are B-Listed heroes. The story focuses on their troubles and their day-to-day lives.

The series features the story of Jesse Custer, a preture obsessed with drinking and a chain smoker. He somehow gets involved in a situation, after which, he gets possessed by an entity and gains extraordinary powers. He starts his journey to better understand his powers and their true meaning. He is accompanied by his assassin ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and an Irish vampire and his new friend named Cassidy. The trio take the adventure head on with plenty of action, interesting puzzles, new and fresh characters and a whole lot of bloody violence.

10. The Gifted

The Gifted is a 2017 action adventure superhero drama series. It consists of 2 seasons and a total of 29 episodes with an approximate runtime of 45 – 47 minutes. The series features the story of a family who try to run, hiding from the government, after they learn the children in their family are born with mutant abilities. In this timeline, mutants are often feared, discriminated against and ill treated. The family joins an underground network of mutants and have to fight for their survival.

11. The Punisher

The Punisher is a 2017 action thriller and superhero crime drama series. It consists of 2 seasons and a total of 26 episodes with an approximate runtime of 49 – 58 minutes. The series focuses on the life of Frank Castle, also known as the ‘Punisher’. The series starts with Frank searching for the people responsible for his family’s death, and keeps eliminating them. During the process, he learns of his past connections and learns of the deep conspiracies within the CIA which run deeper than the underworld. Being true to his title as the Punisher, he sets out to discover the truth between the conspiracies and learn their connections to prevent further casualties like his family.

The series is about a capable and promising superhero named Tick, who roams in the city in a blue tick suit helping people, busting crime scenes, taking preventive measures, and targeting the core of dangerous and mysterious underworld organisations. He finds a nervous, meek and soft-spoken ally named Arthur who later becomes his sidekick. As time passes, they follow the hints to realise that a supervillain named ‘The Terror’, who was presumed to be dead for a long time, is still alive and is directly connected to the underworld.

The series features an alternate reality, where 43 women simultaneously give birth to children at noon on 1st August, 1989, with no signs of pregnancy before the incident. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire, adopts 7 of those kids and turns them into a superhero team called the Umbrella Academy. He gives the children numbers except for names, leaving one child out until Grace, their robot mother, gives them names. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Ben and Vanya. The six take part in fighting crime, while Vanya is forbidden to do so as she doesn’t show any powers.

The series follows the mission of an unusual trio who try to protect the history of mankind. The story takes place in a reality where a time machine gets stolen by a mysterious criminal whose intention is to destroy America by changing the past. A history professor, a soldier and an engineer come together to find the culprit by travelling to the past. They learn that the culprit is planning to change history and their lives are directly dependent on the changes he is keen on making. Also, the organization which funded the machine’s development also seems to be connected.

15. Titans

Titans is a 2018 sci-fi action adventure superhero drama series. It has a total of 3 seasons and 37 episodes with an approximate runtime of 40 – 50 minutes. The series takes place in an alternate reality and follows the story of young heroes from the DC Universe, as they come of age and form a group like the classic Teen Titans( which will be included in the list). Rachel Roth, a young girl possessed by a weird dark power, and Dick Grayson are involved in a conspiracy which will eventually bring chaos on earth. Starfire, a girl with a hot head and fancy powersl, and Gar Logan, a cheerful and lovable lad, join the team in order to save the planet. They stay and plan together and eventually become a family to each other.

16. My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is a 2016 action comedy superhero anime series. It has a total of 5 seasons and 113 episodes with 6 OVAs, each runtime being 24 – 27 minutes approximately. The series features the story of an alternate reality where superheroes and normal humans could exist and powers are called quirks. Bakugou is a young boy with the spirit of a true hero, who has the dream of being a hero when he grows up and studies everything he can about superheroes. Unfortunately, he is quirkless, which means he is useless as a hero. One fortunate day, he comes across the world’s greatest hero, who is looking for a young talent to pass his legendary powers to. Bakugou proves his worth and receives legendary power after hardcore training. He joins the top school for superheroes and starts his baby steps to become a great hero.

The Uncanny Counter is a comedy superhero suspense thriller action drama series. It has one season and a total of 16 episodes with an approximate runtime of 64 – 74 minutes. The series features the story of a group of demon hunters who catch evil spirits who escape from the afterlife to gain immortality. These spirits possess humans and have a strong killer intent, sucking the souls of their victims to raise their rank and get closer to their goals. The demon hunters are called Counters and were in a coma before spirits from Yung, the boundary between the afterlife and the living gave them the powers, superhuman strength, healthy consciousness and body required to carry out their jobs as counters after possessing them.

The series follows the story of a superhero, Saitama, an unassociated superhero who does good deeds for a hobby. He comes across Genos, a cyborg who wishes to learn from Saitama. Saitama has superhero strength. He has trained himself from a young age and is capable of defeating powerful villains and great monsters with a single punch. His unmatched strength is insane and he never loses a battle, which makes his life boring. Saitama and Genos decide to join the Hero Association to gain notability. Saitama scores an average in his written test, which gives him a low rank, and his amazing skills go unnoticed by his peers, who are unaware of his current power.

19. The Defenders

The Defenders is a 2017 action superhero drama series. It has one season and a total of 8 episodes with an approximate runtime of 44 – 45 minutes. The series features the story of Marvel’s superheroes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, who are brought together for an important mission. The four heroes have to save New York City while dealing with their own personal issues and insecurities, facing their fears and supporting each other as a team. The series follows the stories of Jujitsu Sorcerers who are in charge of fighting cursed monsters, who are born after a lot of negative energy is released by humans. The curses are not visible to humans but are visible to the sorcerers. Jujitsu Sorcerers have different powers which have been passed to them since their previous generations, and by controlling their flow of cursed energy, they use it or refine it to use Cursed Techniques. Itadori is a fit high-schooler who gets involved in a sorcerer’s fight with a monster after he witnesses them. To save the sorcerer, Itadori eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, an evil and powerful cursed spirit who makes Itadori his vessel or host to come back to life after taking over the boy’s body. Itadori’s boring life comes to an end and he gets into the sorcerers’ school.

The series follows the story of Luke Cage, who gets involved in a sabotaged experiment which leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin. He becomes a fugitive, who tries to rebuild his life in Harlem. He has to face his past and fight a battle for the heart of the city. He clears his false accusations and becomes a hero and celebrity in Harlem. He soon confronts a situation where he has to rethink his ideals and struggle between choosing to stay a hero or turn into a villain.

22. Mob Psycho 100

Teen Titans is a Superhero Action adventure comedy drama series. It has a total of 5 seasons and a total of 65 episodes with an approximate runtime of 21 – 23 minutes. The series focuses on the lives of a group of superheroes in their teens going by the name of Teen Titans. Robin is the leader of the titans and the only member who doesn’t have any special powers. His physical agility and his quick thinking alone make him a perfect leader and gains the trust and respect of his fellow team members, making him a titan. Raven has dark magical powers, Starfire can shoot razor light through her eyes and can levitate in the sky like Raven. Beast boy has the ability to shapeshift into animals and Cyborg is an expert on machines and does a great job using his body as a weapon wielding machine. They live in a T-shaped Titans Tower, their command centre, and deal with different kinds of crime and criminals who are a threat to society while dealing with their adolescence.

24. Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail is a fantasy hero magic wizard comedy family drama anime series. It has a total of 7 seasons and 328 episodes of approximately 24 minutes runtime. Fairy Tail takes place in an imaginary world where magic and powers are no new things to normal people. Many people roam around the streets wielding different and unique magic, some which are not based on the elements. Although not all powers and magic are strong, and not everyone has them, there are a few guilds who consist of powerful magicians and power holders who are able to catch criminals and protect the world from mysterious monsters and criminals trying to wake up legendary beasts. The story follows the life of Natsu Dragneel, or Salamander, a dragon slayer, and Lucy Heartfelia, a celestial gatekeeper. Dragon slayers are extremely rare beings which are connected to the extinct dragons who once ruled the planet. Natsu belongs to the 1st Generation dragon slayers.

1st Generation dragon slayers are the only generation to have learnt from actual dragons, which is considered a hoax by many. Natsu believes that his father, Igneel, the fire dragon king, is still alive and dragons are not extinct. He searches for hints to prove his theory along with Lucy and his pet Happy, while performing heroic deeds to earn money for himself. He belongs to a top guild named Fairy Tail, a guild filled with talent of all ages and glued together with a bond stronger than loyalty and living like a big family. The initial seasons of the anime might seem boring as it was basically created for kids, but, if you are an adult, you can directly skip to the 3rd season as the anime does a great job explaining, and you wouldn’t be stuck clueless because of missing a couple of seasons.

Superman and Louis is a Superhero series consisting of 2 seasons and 29 episodes. The series features the story of Clark Kent and Louis Lane. They return to Smallville with their kids, Jonathan and Jordan. The parents are worried that the kids will inherit their Kryptonian powers from their Superman father.
