Is Naruto Shippuden Over?

As mentioned earlier, Naruto Shippuden has ended as of 23rd March 2017 and there won’t be any new additions to the franchise. It has completed its 10-year-long run and has gained a lot of awards and recognition for its animation. The series mainly focused on the titular character, Naruto, and his nemesis, Sasuke. Naruto wishes to be a great ninja and the leader of his village, the Hokage. He trains hard to achieve his goals. Sasuke wants to grow stronger to complete his vengeance and gain more power. The series follows the timeline where the characters have grown, and they now have to face the cruel world after witnessing and coping with dire and depressing situations in their lives. The friends have a firm dream and want to do everything they can and more to win it. This leads the duo to a path where they have different opinions, and continuously fight, thinking what they believe and want is right. The original series ran for 220 episodes and the second series released as much as double of the initial series before announcing its final departure.

Although heartbreaking, this wasn’t the end for our favourite characters, as in the Spring of 2016, a new series, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations was released following the story of Naruto as a Hokage, his family and friends’ life in the future. His kids are Boruto, Himawari and his adopted son Kawaki. Boruto and Kawaki have dangerous and special powers which are a threat to the world and it’s up to Naruto to properly train and mould their minds into great ninjas who will turn out to be great warriors and will save the world from evil forces. He is also in charge of keeping them safe and sane, not allowing their inner alien monsters, who are now a part of their body, to gain control over their soul.

Naruto Story

As mentioned earlier, the show’s primary focus is featuring Naruto and Sasuke’s lives and their hardcore training. They were both outcasts who came together along with a Team 7 member, Sakura and their teacher, Kakashi, to fulfil their ultimate goals. As the Naruto-Sasuke duo fight and end up following their dreams on different routes, Sasuke joins Ochimaru. The Akatsuki are a group of powerful Shinobis, who roam trying to collect all the tailed beasts, not for themselves, but to place them in a vessel called the Gedo Statue. As of now, there is no leader to the group announced but the fans speculate it might be Tobi, a man with mysterious powers who is extremely smart and qualified but pretends to be a fool by acting like one. He caused the destruction of Konoha Village and is responsible for the Fourth Hokage’s death and Naruto’s transformation into a Jinchuuriki. Jinchuuriki is people who have a great and powerful Chakra and are home to the tailed beasts, preventing them from spreading chaos in the world.

The Akatsuki consists of many strong Shinobi, including Sasuke’s brother, Itachi Uchiha, whom he has pledged his vengeance, and Sasori, a powerful sand puppet master. Naruto has to fight them, but he is too weak to face them head-on. He tries to control his power and goes through tough and difficult training to sharpen his skills. Jiraiya Or Pervy Sage and Kakashi Hatake take up the job of training Naruto after his schooling is complete. He is well hidden for some time as he completes various missions and journeys given to him by the Hokage, so he can grow stronger and learn as much as he can, so he is prepared to face the Akatsuki in the future. Yamato, a great Ninja connected to the first Hokage, helps Naruto to properly contain his Nine Tails. He is taken to Mount Myoboku to train and learn the arts of the Toad Sage, which will help him have better control over his chakra.

Desperate to increase his powers, Sasuke tries to do anything and everything, including learning from dark and forbidden sources to complete his goals. Hence, he turned into Orochimaru, a member of the legendary Sannin like Jiraiya, and a former member of the Akatsuki. He wants to add the boy to his group and use him after making him stronger, eventually killing him and tying up loose ends once his goals are accomplished. Sasuke, being the smart and quick-witted he is, kills Orochimaru and trains, joining the Akatsuki team. Sasuke uses every incident as a stepping stone and quickly learns everything as he moves closer to his goal. Both the kids share a special bond, embodying the spirits of Indra and Asura, the sons of the founder of Shinobi.
