2. Out Of The Cradle
If you have watched the show yet, you really know what this episode is about. We are talking about the 18th episode of the anime series. this episode is where things change for prince Canute, the prince became a king, in other words, or the words of the drunken priest he gained enlightenment and that’s a big thing if you have known how prince Canute used to be. This episode is when the battle is still going on between Thorkell and Thorfinn and Thorfinn is Askeladd’s last hope. While on the other side Bjorn is going rampaging trying to protect the prince, however the prince during this phase gets a dream where Ragnar bids him goodbye, and Canute wishes to be Ragnar’s son instead of king Sweyn. However, soon we see the kid’s enlightenment when the priest explains to him what true love is, and what people have for him is just discrimination. Soon everything changes and Canute starts acting as the true leader and stops everything.

3. A True Warrior
Here we are talking about episode 4 from the anime series, this is the episode that has been loved by fans, though it is just one of the starting episodes, this is the spider that decides the fate of Thorfinn. In this episode, we see how floki under the orders of the king of Danes, gives the mission to Askeladd’s party to trap thors and kill him at any cost. Now the party of thors along whom is Thorfinn, know nothing about this trap, and as we know Askeladd, through cunning measures attacks the party and kills most of the people. Thors being the greatest fi9ghter in the entire series would have been able to save everyone, or at least kill everyone on the other side, but askellad taking Thorfinn as his hostage changes everything and thors meets his end.

4. United Front
Here we are talking about the 19th episode form the show, and one of the best episodes, this is the episode where we get to know about the past about how Thor used to be, the characters who are just showered with greatness, the only example of a true warrior, and how Thorkell regrets following him while he left to be a true warrior, while all this is going on Askeladd sees to the wounds of Thorfinn and suddenly out of certain circumstances, Thorfinn wins and Askeladd sees a ray of hope. While this is going on, Canute comes and he brings with him the true form of a king which shocks everyone, and through his enlightened state, he brings together a united front against king Sweyn

5. Lone Wolf
This is the 22nd episode of the show, and it is very much towards the end, in the previous episode we just saw how Askeladd, takes the life of Bjorn on the battlefield sending him to Valhalla, and after Bjorn is dead, Askeladd, feels the emptiness, he knows how loyal Bjorn has been and maybe he is the only friend he has got. Something feels different in Askeladd, and when Thorfinn asks him to duel. He readily accepts it and the duel is overlooked by Canute and Thorkell, Askeladd from the first only has the upper hand, and he has also got no mercy but it’s Canute who stops the fight and brings the two men to peace, this is the episode where things change for Askeladd.

6. Servant
This is the 17th episode in the series and a very crucial episode, if this episode wouldn’t have been there, Thorkell and Askeladd may never have met in the chase, it was the fear of death and the unloyalty that Askeladd’s men had, which changes the course of action. In this episode, we see that Thorkell’s party is marching much faster than Askeladd had expected and some of his party members are conspiring against him and trying to take away Canute and give it to Thorkell, and soon when he tries to corner Askeladd, Askeladd shows his true power, but soon we see Thorkell arriving among all this chaos.

7. Reunion
Here we are talking about the 21st episode of the series and this episode gives us a wide view of the overall political situation that is going on. After a long journey prince Canute has at least returned to the capital and this time he has his own loyal subjects, he is not the old prince but now he has the mindset of a king, and though he wished to strike the king of Sweyn first, he takes his time and handles the situation with much cautiousness.

8. The Battle Of The London Bridge
This is the great 9th episode of the show, whose glimpses are just spread all over social media. This episode marks the proper introduction to the character of Thorkell, who is not currently on the Danish side, and fighting for England, we see the fight for the bridge of London, but Askeladd didn’t expect to face such a strong front in this area, however, Thorfinn is soon identified by throkell, and he considered him to be a warrior, they both start having a proper duel, where Thorfinn chops a finger off from Thorkell’s hand and receives a great blow at the same time from Thorkell, this is the episode after which throkell, goes on chasing for Thorfinn.

9. The Journey Begins
It’s the 6th episode of the series we are talking about here, this has been quite a dramatic episode, and many viewers have loved it, it depicts what Thorfinn will lack in the future and how he is so unknown to what love feels like, how he is turning completely empty of emotions except hatred. In this episode, which is the 7th episode form the series, we see that Thorfinn has grown, it has been a long time since thors has passed away and though he has been seeking revenge, he is a part of Askeladd’s party, he is the best man Askeladd has got and none are even at par with him. Now in this episode, we see how Askeladd promises Thorfinn a duel if he can bring the head of the opposing party, the senior commander, and to Thorfinn, it seems like a child’s play, but overall, this scene portrays how cunning a man Askeladd is and what motives he has in the political scenario.

11. Beyond The Edge Of The Sea
The 8th episode from the series, is one of the most loved episodes of the series, this is because we don’t have much of a huge plan going on, its completely action-based, where we see Thorfinn playing an important role,m as one of Askeladd’s men and how excellent he is, we also see how cunning a man Askeladd is and that he isn’t scared of anyone, he just goes forward uses his cunning measures and at the end, he doesn’t care about anything but money. 12. Troll
In this episode, we are talking about the beginning of the entire adventure. This is the third episode of the series and it concentrates on how a 100 men army certainly one day comes to the lands where Thor resides with his family, and they have no idea about who Thor used to be. In this episode, we also see that Thor sets on his return with a group of men who are excited to be a part of the, army, and floki meanwhile conspires with askeladd to take down Thor, on the adventure we find that Thorfinn has somehow slipped on the ship and there is no way to return him to his home.

13. Crown
Again, we come towards the last few episodes of the series and this is 20th one, this episode as we have told earlier holds a lot of importance as every little detail shown in these episodes has a large impact on the future of the show. In this episode, we see how Thorfinn and Thorkell, follow the orders of Canute and now the new personality he has got, which is of a king, makes everyone respect him. He understands the true meaning of power, love, and discrimination and is set out to create their own paradise. With Askeladd’s planning, they set out to kill king Sweyn.

14. The Troll’s Son
By this time, we already know who we are referring to as the troll’s son, its none other than Thorfinn, and this is the fifth episode in the series and has got much eminence, this is the episode after the killing of thor has happened, and as Askeladds party tag along with the boat in which thor and his men were travelling, in that boat stays Thorfinn, crumbled up, completely broken, filled with anger and the only thing he seeks for his revenge. In one scene everyone will be shocked to see the eyes of a wild animal getting reflected in Thorfinn’s eyes.

15. A Gamble
This is the 11th episode in the anime series and this is the first episode where we get to see the face of prince Canute. This is another action-filled episode and if you are looking for some epic moments between Thorfinn and Thorkell, this is the one you need to watch. Thorkell, makes sure he is the son of the great thor, and we also see that for a certain part of the episode, their prince Canute was in the hands of Thorkell, however, Askeladd with his cunning intelligence saves the prince and asks him to employ him to his service. There is another significance to this episode, the story of Valhalla, the great story which depicts how a warrior should die and where he goes after his death, is told by Thorkell to Ragnar. A great episode indeed.

16. Somewhere Not Here
This is the first episode of the series, and you can’t just miss this one, you understand the entire setting of the story from this. The episode starts with showing how thor escapes the battlefield and chooses to never return, and then we see a time skip and reach the time where thor lives in a small village, with his family, who are happy, nobody knows what thor used to do previously but everyone respects and loves him. We also see how slaves were treated in those days and for season 2 of the show, understanding the condition of slaves in those is very important. Overall, this episode is a nice start to the upcoming journey of Thorfinn.

17. The Light Of Dawn
Here we are talking about the 14th episode of the show, and this is the episode where the true intent, the cruelty, and the warrior mentality of the Vikings come out. Here we see that the party of Askeladd who have been appointed by the prince to guard him and take him back to king Sweyn, however, due to natural circumstances, end up meeting a deadly storm, a storm in which they won’t be able to travel anyhow, they end up taking shelter in a village, but before that, they make sure to take away everything from the village and kill everyone living there. Though we see a single girl escape and that is how Thorkell in the later episodes catches up with them.

18. History Of Beats
We move forward from the 14th episode to the 16th episode, and as we know the Askeladd party was taking shelter in a village because of the severe storm they are facing and the winter season, but we also know they have rampaged and plundered the village, while all this is going on we also see that the girl who escaped has reached the English men and informed them about how they were camping there, the Englishmen try to attack them but Askeladd’s men were able t9o defeat them and asked there head about the current situation they come to know about that girl and also get the news that Thorkell is approaching them at full speed.

19. Miscalculations
Again, we have moved towards one eminent episode which describes the entire political scenario and sets the path for the assignation of king Sweyn. We are talking here about the 23rd episode. This is the episode where king Sweyn tried to assassinate prince Canute, but because of some mistakes and along with the intelligence of Askeladd the prince is saved, and the rumor regarding the king’s intentions spread all over the land. Now while all this is going on, some other chaos happens, and to keep the peace Thorfinn is just casually put to jail by the local guards Askeladd doesn’t know anything about it

20. After Yule
Here we again move back to the 15th episode and this is the time when Askeladd’s party was resting in that village to escape the snow storm, Thorkell has matched to the centre of England and he hears that the war is coming to an end, as usual, Thorkell is quite upset about it and he wants to finish the enemy completely. On the other hand, he also gets news from certain sources regarding the village in which Thorfinn and the prince are and he decides to march toward them, he was hungry to fight against Thorfinn again.

21. Ragnarok
Another episode that has a lot of stories, is the episode where we see a different bond between Askeladd and Thorfinn.
