Movies Releasing In August 2022: Biggest Blockbuster?

1. Bullet Train Movie

Movies Releasing In August 2022

Bullet Train is based on a Japanese novel by Ktar Isaka and follows a Japanese Bullet Train on a high-speed journey from Tokyo to Morioka with few stops. Five assassins are aboard the car, each with their own mission. They are all related, unbeknownst to them. When the assassins figure out what’s actually going on, they’ll have to fight for their lives to uncover the secrets that await them at their destination.

The premise appears to promise a lot of brutal, constant action, and it looks a lot like the John Wick trilogy. It’ll be interesting to see how the film is received at the end. While an R-rating appears to be a foregone conclusion given that, with the exception of Hobbs & Shaw, all of Leitch’s films have obtained that classification, there’s a chance Sony will go with a PG-13 rating in order to appeal to a younger audience.

On Friday, August 5, 2022, Bullet Train will be released (Nationwide release). Easter Sunday, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and Secret Headquarters are among the eight films that will be released on the same day.

2. Easter Sunday

Movies Releasing In August 2022

Universal and Dreamworks have released the first trailer for Jo Koy’s “Easter Sunday.” The comedy is structured around a family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday, and it stars the comedian in his first feature film role. At CinemaCon, the trailer debuted for the first time.

The film, which will be released on August 5, is a love letter to the Filipino community and is the first studio picture to include an all-Filipino cast. Jimmy O is going home with Koy for an Easter week of eating, laughing, drinking, and boisterous fun. Yang, Tia Carrere, Brandon Wardell, Lydia Gaston, Asif Ali, Rodney To, Eugene Cordero, Jay Chandrasekhar, Tiffany Haddish, and Lou Diamond Phillips are among the cast members.

The clip depicts Koy’s on-screen mother commenting on how he should have been a lawyer, demonstrating how he draws from both personal experience and his standup comedy performance. Another family encounter reveals how they all have the same ATM pin number in celebration of Filipino-American boxer Manny Pacquiao’s birthday. “I and your dad used to be real intimate back in the day,” Haddish tells Koy as a cop.

DreamWorks and Amblin are collaborating on the project. The film will be released in the United States by Universal Pictures. Amblin Partners and Universal will share international distribution rights.

3. Bodies Bodies Bodies Movie

The debut trailer for A24’s Bodies Bodies Bodies takes a step back from that point of view, not by trying to drown viewers in more blood than they’ve ever seen before, but by turning it into one of the most striking escalations in a teaser that’s already all about escalation. Bodies Bodies Bodies, which had a great first critical reception when it premiered at the 2022 SXSW media event, follows seven friends and hangers-on to a remote property where they plan to party. They quickly launch into an edgy deduce-the-killer communal game akin to Mafia, Werewolf, or Among Us. Things obviously go wrong. As the party progresses from slapping to tears to, inevitably, the house losing power and the characters losing cell phone service, the trailer shows the party fast increasing from slapping to weeping, the house eventually loses power, and the characters lose their cell phone service.

Even for horror enthusiasts, this trailer has a lot of build-ups – the tone, pace, level of violence, and, most importantly, the quantity of blood all increase at breakneck speed. It’s a guarantee that actor-turned-director Halina Reijn will take this film to extremes and in a frantic, untidy manner.

On August 5, 2022, the film Bodies Bodies Bodies will be released in theatres.

5. Luck Movie

Movies Releasing In August 2022

Luck gets off to a terrific start. Dhoom 2 and Race are highly influenced in terms of aesthetics, action, and execution. Unfortunately, it results in an overdose. The plot is interesting, and it had the potential to join the ranks of yet another stylized thriller.

To begin with, the “game show/betting” should have been given more screen time so that the concept could sink in. Imran Khan’s background received far too much attention, while a few others received far too little.

Luck will be released on Friday, August 5, 2022 (Apple TV+ release) in 2022. Bullet Train, Easter Sunday, and Bodies Bodies Bodies are among the eight films that will be released on the same day.

6. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Turtle

Movies Releasing In August 2022

Despite the fact that its TV program was cancelled after two seasons of poor ratings, the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film is ready to hit theatres, and here’s everything we know so far. The show was supposed to have a third season, but Nickelodeon opted to cancel it when it failed to attract viewers and sell enough toys. The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, however, was eventually revealed to be a continuation of the TV show.

The fourth animated series about the crime-fighting turtles, Rise of the TMNT, was a mediocre relaunch. The four brothers – Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelango – were redesigned, with new appearances, weaponry, and even mystical abilities. After mixed reviews, the decision to transform it into a Netflix film may come as a surprise, especially given the number of inconsistent TMNT films that have already been released. The most recent being Batman Vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, received positive reviews when it was released in 2019. There have also been a few live-action adaptations, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016), both of which garnered poor reviews.

On Friday, August 5, 2022, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Turtles will be released (Netflix release). Bullet Train, Easter Sunday, and Bodies Bodies Bodies are among the eight films that will be released on the same day.

7. Secret Headquarters

Secret Headquarters’ is an upcoming superhero film from the United States. Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman directed the film, which they also co-wrote with Josh Koenigsberg.

The tale is based on an original concept by Christopher Yost, the project’s single previous writer.

The film’s producers are Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman, with Orlee-Rose Strauss serving as executive producer.

On Friday, August 5, 2022, Secret Headquarters will be released (Nationwide release). Bullet Train, Easter Sunday, and Bodies Bodies Bodies are among the eight films that will be released on the same day.

8. Luck

The first half of the film is devoted solely to character introductions, with none of them establishing themselves convincingly. Sanjay Dutt, in sherwani, jackets, and a French beard, repeats his gun-toting routine in the company of black-suited security for the zillionth time. What’s more, his name – Musa – is the same as everyone else’s. Ram Mehra (Imran Khan) is responsible for reimbursing his late father for a 20-crore stock market loss. Major Jawar Pratap Singh (Mithun Chakravarthy) is in a similar predicament as Amitabh Bachchan in Kaante: he wants money to help his unwell wife. The script uses a Shortcut to connect to a neighboring country (Chitrashi Rawat). Raghav (Ravi Kishen), a rapist, is hanged after a loose noose fails to kill him.

Luck will be released on Friday, August 5, 2022 (Apple TV+ release) 2022. Bullet Train, Easter Sunday, and Bodies Bodies Bodies are among the eight films that will be released on the same day.

9. Resurrection

Movies Releasing In August 2022

The Sundance Film Festival this year was heavy on genre material, with a slew of horror and thriller films dominating the schedule and taking home some of the festival’s top prizes. Andrew Semans is one of the many brave directors who have elevated once-pulpy genres to high art. “Resurrection,” his most recent picture, received positive reviews for turning a topic that has been explored in innumerable formulaic thrillers into something truly distinctive.

“Resurrection” is about a woman (played by Rebecca Hall) who has her routine life turned upside down when a man from her past reappears in her present. As the tragic truths of their previous relationship begin to emerge, her life begins to disintegrate in unexpected ways.

While that description might be applied to any number of basic cable thrillers, the film won critics over by progressively devolving into something far more bizarre, which must be seen to be properly appreciated. Semans’ ability to merge genres and styles wowed Sundance viewers, leading to the acquisition of the film by IFC Films and Shudder.

On Friday, August 5, 2022, Resurrection will be released (Limited release). Bullet Train, Easter Sunday, and Bodies Bodies Bodies are among the eight films that will be released on the same day.

10. Not Okay

Movies Releasing In August 2022

The modern-day world of social media as experienced by today’s young adults can be ludicrous at times, making it ideal fodder for satire. At least, that’s what Searchlight Pictures and Makeready believe, as they embark on “Not Okay,” a new comedic film that explores the matter. Quinn Shephard (who appeared in Netflix’s “The Politician”) has tapped rising actress Zoey Deutch to play the fame-hungry lead in the upcoming drama (via Deadline). Deutch also serves as the film’s executive producer.

“Not Okay” will be available exclusively on Hulu’s streaming service.

It’s been a low-key production thus far, but that could change shortly. “Not Okay” has been making steady progress toward completion over the last few months, and it won’t be long before we see it on our television screens.

On Friday, August 5, 2022, the film Not Okay will be released (Hulu release). Bullet Train, Easter Sunday, and Bodies Bodies Bodies are among the eight films that will be released on the same day.

Things become much more deadly when a mysterious killer begins to claim victims.
