Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Disney+ original television miniseries set in the Star Wars universe. It is part of the Star Wars franchise, and it takes place ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). She then joined an underground movement that aided in the smuggling of surviving Jedi to safety. She attempted to assist Obi-Wan Kenobi in bringing Leia Organa back to Alderaan, her home planet.
Tala joined the Empire because she believed in the New Order’s ideals, but it was too late when she realized what the Empire really stood for. Tala remained an Officer, but she joined The Path, a network that aided Empire foes, including fugitive Jedi. Among the Quinlan Vos was the first Jedi Tala met. She rescued Obi-Wan Kenobi and Leia Organa from stormtroopers holding them at gunpoint at a checkpoint in 9 BBY.
Tala was a little late for her appointment, but she had luckily followed them. When the Inquisitors and Darth Vader landed in town, she led Obi-Wan and Leia to the hallways of The Path, but Obi-Wan Vader tried to hold them back. Leia and Tala rushed to board a ship bound for Jabiim. But Tala was concerned, so Leia continued on her own. Tala, for example, was able to assist Obi-Wan after his battle with Vader. The Third Sister, on the other hand, had already arrived at the ship and was waiting for Leia.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is slowly but steadily becoming an important part of George Lucas’ Star Wars universe. The latest Obi-Wan Kenobi episode on Disney+ revealed a number of surprises, not the least of which was Hayden Christian’s return as Anakin Skywalker-turned-Darth Vader, voiced—delightfully—by Mark Hamill James Earl Jones is a character in the film James Earl Jones. However, the series has made a point of not relying too heavily on the nostalgia pleasure button, preferring instead to push new characters to the forefront whenever possible in the hopes of attracting their own rabid fan bases. Fans who recognized Varma from her role as Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones, the love interest of Pedro Pascal’s Prince Oberyn Martell, were quick to spot her in the Obi-Wan trailer when it first debuted, dressed as an Imperial officer and architect of the nefarious Empire. Star Wars, on the other hand, enjoys a good red herring. In episode 3, Tala debuted in her slick uniform, only to shoot the Stormtroopers who were accompanying her, as well as Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) and the young Princess.
On the mining planet Mapuzo, Leia (Vivian Lyra Blair) is brought to safety. The big reveal was what some fans had already guessed: she’s a defector who assists in the maintenance of The Path, an underground railroad for runaway Jedi and their allies.
By the end of episode 3, Tala has saved Ben Kenobi’s life twice—first from Stormtroopers and then from a vengeful Vader himself. But, with the nasty burn on his right side, Obi-Wan isn’t going to last long without Tala’s help, so we can expect her to play a major supporting role for the rest of the series—and, if Varma’s willingness is any indication, possibly into spin-offs as well. Will Obi-Wan Kenobi Include Tala As The Main Character?
Tala is unlikely to become a true leader, but she appears to be a key supporting character in the remaining Obi-Wan episodes. “Tala has a lovely arc,” Varma says, implying that her story will be spread out over several chapters.
Varma, on the other hand, isn’t complaining about his lack of screen time. She still enjoys relative anonymity despite being a part of two of the world’s most popular sci-fi and fantasy franchises, Game of Thrones and now Star Wars. “I have the freedom to take public transportation without having to worry about people recognizing me.” Varma says, “I can navigate the world like a normal person, and that is priceless to me.” “When people say things like that, it’s an I really like what you’ve done within the context of a large project. It’s lovely because you forget sometimes, because you’re not recognized all the time, and you think to yourself, ‘Oh, wow, it had an impact.’ I’ve lost track of time. People do identify with Ellaria, I forget. So there you have it. It’s quite nice.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi Release
The actors attended a surprise premiere event at Star Wars Celebration, a fan convention in Anaheim, California, ahead of the release of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s first two episodes on Disney+ last week. Varma wore a beige Roksanda suit with a neon green sash and black-and-brown boots, a clever nod to her Imperial uniform as well as a red-carpet-ready look. (“Having a shoe you can run in is always a bonus,” Varma jokes in an email follow-up interview.) The look was created by British stylist Rose Forde and featured makeup by Lilly Keys and hair by Sera Sloane.
Varma’s first real step into the Star Wars fandom—one that, for better or worse, has earned a reputation for fervour—happened that night. “It’s “It’s really cool to be a part of something that cares about its fans—and includes them,” she says. “It shows trust and love, and I believe it’s a way of repaying loyalty.”

Is Tala Set To Appear In Any Other Star Wars Shows or Spin-Offs?
I ask if Varma would be willing to bring Tala along for a cameo—or even a supporting role—in the show’s upcoming season 3 because she’s still close with her old Game of Thrones co-star Pascal, who is now universally adored for his portrayal of bounty hunter-turned-father figure Mando in The Mandalorian.
Varma laughs and says, “Oh my God.” “You know what, you know what? Yes, I’d work with anyone who is a talented, lovely person with whom I’ve previously collaborated. I’d say yes. Sure, I’d do it. You want to work with people you like and respect, as well as people you’ve previously worked with.” To put it another way, there’s always hope.
It’s easy to see how the show’s writers could have imagined the two getting together from where this leaves off, Tala intervenes with a well-timed blaster shot just as the Sith Lord is about to secure his capture, and the two are able to flee. but it’s probably for the best that they didn’t. On the one hand, it would have meant Obi-Wan abandoning the Jedi tenet of avoiding romantic attachment, but on the other, it would have drawn attention away from Obi-Wan and Anakin’s relationship, which the director Deborah Chow has identified as the show’s heart. In terms of what Tala’s story will ultimately be, fans will have to wait until Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 4 breaths of air on Wednesday to find out.
