The series follows the documentary crew who spend their time with the friendly neighbourhood people in Flatch, Ohio. In the first episode, Kelly and Shrub who are cousins as well as each other’s best friends pull a few pranks on the bus driver. Father Joe reveals that he moved here 8 months ago, he shares that he feels great responsibility because Kelly and Shrub need a lot of guidance and they call him “father Joe” so he sometimes feels like he is their father and he feels proud and concerned because of that. Big Mandy comes on the camera and talks a bit about Flatch and how it’s an upstanding town that deserves everyone’s attention and speaks about young people. Cheryl Peterson shares her view about Flatch and how she believes that it does have some colourful characters and that’s the part of its charm. The documentary crew mostly follows the cousins around as they share what’s inside their brain cells with the viewers consisting of some sort of odd facts and stories and experiences.
