One of the all-time best horror-comedy movies in Bollywood is Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan’s Bhul Bhulaiya. Filled with an amazing cast, this movie attained huge success in the industry. Now the chocolate boy of Bollywood Kartik Aryan and talented Kiara Advani are coming with the sequel of this Horror-Comedy movie Bhul Bhulaiya 2.
The second part of Bhul Bhulaiya focuses on the same village as last time. Some actors are also repeated in the sequel. Bhul Bhulaiya was released in 2007. Now, after 15 years of the movie, T-series productions are coming with the sequel of the movie. So, once again it’s time for unlimited comedy, thrill, and suspense of Manjulika’s coming back.

Is Bhul Bhulaiya 2 A Remake?
No, Bhul Bhulaiya is not a remake of any movie in the film industry. However, the earlier released Bhul Bhulaiya was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu that was released in 1993. But, Bhul Bhulaya 2 is not a remake nor it is based on any true story or novel. The story of the upcoming movie is totally fictional and original. However, the makers had tried to continue the whole story of the spirit of Manjulika which was shown in Bhul Bhulaiya part 1.
In Bhul Bhulaiya we have seen the people of a village in Rajasthan believe that the spirit of dancer Manjulika who with his lover was killed by the king of the state and Manjulika’s spirit is still in the King’s Haveli where now lives Thakur family. The new bride of the family Avni (played by Vidya Balan) thinks of herself as Manjulika and acts like her after a few days of coming into the haveli. However, Dr Aditya (Akshay Kumar) claimed it was a mental condition and succussed in curing Avni and freeing the villagers from the fear of Manjulika. Now in the Bhul Bhulaiya 2, the return of Manjulika will be shown.
The Thakur family’s Haveli is shown in Bhul Bhulaiya 2 whereas Manjulika leaves are again shown in the second part. Ruhan who is in love with Reet Thakur comes to the Haveli and claims that he can see and talk with the ghost. In order to prove his powers, he awakes Manjulika who was locked in a room of Haveli for years. Now the spirit starts haunting everyone and strange things start to happen in Haveli. The movie will be a full dose of humour and horror with a spice of romance for the viewers.

Bhul Bhulaiya 2 Cast
T-series production Bhul Bhulaiya 2 is a multi-cast film. The lead actors of Bhul Bhulaiya Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan are not repeated this time. However, actor Kartik Aryan who was earlier seen in ‘Luka Chhupi’, ‘Pati Patni or Woh’, and various other movies is playing the lead role of ‘Ruhaan Randhawa’ in the movie who is a fraud Tantrik. Opposite Kartik Aryan is the ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Shershaah’ fame Kiara Advani. She is playing the character of Reet Thakur and Manjulika.
Apart from Kiara, actree Tabu is also playing Manjulika and Kanika Sharma. Actor Rajpal Yadav is seen in the character of ‘Chhota Pandit’ like Bhul Bhulaiya. Actor Sanjay Mishra, Amar Upadhyay, Karamveer Choudhary, Rajesh Sharma, and Milind Gunaji are also part of the Bhul Bhulaiya cast and are playing major roles.
Earlier, Bhul Bhulaiya was directed by Priyadarshan. But the Bhul Bhulaiya 2 is directed by Anees Bazmee. However, the second part is also produced by Bhushan Kumar like Bhul Bhulaiya. Notably, music composer Pritam has given music for the movie.
Bhul Bhulaiya 2 Release Date
Made on a budget of 35 crores, Bhul Bhulaiya 2 is going to be released on 20th May 2022. It will release in theatres all over India on 20th May. Earlier, the trailer of the movie was released at the end of April. The trailer is widely viewed and liked by people. It has got more than a million like till now. The makers are expecting great earnings from the movie.
In the past few years, the making of horror-comedy movies has increased in Bollywood and viewers also gave a good response to this genre of movies. Hence, it is expected that Bhul Bhulaiya 2 can make good money at the box office. However, the real success of the movie could be measured only after its release.
Where To Watch Bhul Bhulaiya 2?
From 20th May Bhul Bhulaiya 2 will release in theatres in India. Presently you can only watch the movie in theatres. After a few weeks of release, it could release on OTT platforms as well. Till then, you cannot watch it online.
