The Backflip Anime which is a follow-up of the Backflip show that was telecasted on television last year has also released its trailer. The sports-based movie has already exited Anime fans in Japan and around the globe. The movie will be in theatres soon. Backflip Anime Film Release Date
The Backflip!! Anime is going to release on 2nd July 2022 in Japan. Directed by Toshimasa Kuroyanagi and written by Toshizou Nemoto, Backflip Anime is the follow-up of Backflip!! TV series. The movie is released under Zexcs studio. At the same time, the music in the movie is given by a prominent composer of various anime movies and shows Yuki Hayashi.
The TV series was originally streamed between April 2021 to June 2021. It has 12 episodes. Now the follow-up film also has a sports background and inter-high tournament. Notably, the Backflip TV series was also directed and written by Toshimasa Kuroyanagi and Toshizou Nemoto respectively.

Backflip Anime Film Story
Backflip Anime is a sports-based movie mainly focusing on gymnastics. The lead character of the movie is Shōtarō Futaba, who loves sports and wants to play some serious sports. He joins the Sōshūkan High School where he develops a keen interest in gymnastics. The movie is going to be all about inter-high competition between various schools where the main competitors will be Sōshūkan High School and Hakumei University Affiliated High School.
In the movie, some new characters are also introduced. The trailer of Backflip!! that was released on 13th May has grown interested among the Backflip show lovers for the movie. Backflip Anime Film Characters
The lead character of Backflip!! Shōtarō Futaba. Shimba Tsuchiya gave voice to the character. The Backflip show has already described Shōtarō’s sports interest and his encounter with gymnastics at Sōshūkan High School. The other lead character and student of Sōshūkan High School is an orphan Ryōya Misa who is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa.
There were various seniors of the school who plays a major role in the story and the inter-high competition. The seniors of Shōtarō include Keisuke Tsukidate voiced by Takashi Kondō, Kōtarō Watari voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, and Masamune Shichigahama voiced by Daisuke Ono. While the voice of the coach Shūsaku Shida is given by Takahiro Sakura.
There are other characters also who belong to other schools and participate in inter-high competitions. The main characters are- Mashiro Tsukiyuki, Tōru Takase, Yōjirō Mutsu, Hideo Ōminato, etc. All the characters in the Anime have something interesting in them which makes the overall movie a must-watch for anime lovers.
Backflip Anime Film Trailer
On Friday the Zexcs studio released a one-and-a-half-minute trailer of Backflip!! Anime. The trailer could be watched on YouTube. It has English subtitles. So, the non-Japanese can also enjoy the trailer. The trailer of Backflip is full of emotions. The trailer quotes a very interesting line for the whole story. The line is – “Each Laugh Takes Them Higher. Each Tear Makes Them Stronger.” As it is a follow-up of the Backflip show, the viewers of Backflip!! Anime shows could better understand the trailer.
Where To Watch Backflip Anime Film Online?
The Backflip Anime movie is going to release in Japan on July 2nd, 2022. There is no specific information available about where the movie could be watched online. After the release of a movie or maybe a few days the makers will announce the OTT release of the Backflip Anime.
However, all 12 episodes of the Backflip Anime TV series were telecasted on Crunchyroll. So, most probably the Backflip!! the movie will also be streamed on Crunchyroll. Notably, before the release of Backflip Anime on 2nd July 2022, the makers had arranged a special screening of the film. The special screening is scheduled for 11th June 2022. The venue for the screening is decided to be Shinjuku Wald 9. With the special screening, the event will also mark as a launch event and media conversation of the Backflip cast.
