The Essex Serpent is a British period drama television series that is based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Sarah Perry. The series will premiere on May 13th, 2022 on Apple TV, it will have 6 episodes, each running for about 60 minutes, written by Anna Symon and directed by Clio Barnard. A serpent arrives in Essex, and Henry blames his wife for being taken away because of her sins.
Local pastor Will Ransome assures him that it was just an accident and tells him that God will look after her. Cora Seaborne moves to Essex to investigate the case, as recently a sea creature has been spotted in the region. She does her research, and Pastor Will Ransome and Cora Seaborne’s opinions clash the more they have conversations. The local people blame women for being tempted by the serpent and eating the fruit offered to them. In the midst of all this, Will and Cora fall in love with each other, only to find out that they still do not agree with each other’s views.
The Essex Serpent Season 2 Release Date
The series is scheduled to be premiered on 13 May 2022 on apple tv once the series arrives on apple tv we will get to see how well the series performs for a few months. If the series does well for season 1, then there are chances that it will be renewed for the second season. If not, then the series cannot come back with season 2. Though in the case of The Essex Serpent, the chances for season 2 are still there because the series is based on the best selling novel and it’s most likely that the makers would like to continue the series for season 2. But unfortunately, The Essex Serpent is a mini-series and will only have 6 episodes for season 1. In the case of mini-series, the show does not get renewed for season 2. They end the story with the last episode without any cliffhangers, so nothing is left to be explored in season 2.

The Essex Serpent Season 2 Story
The series has not been released yet, so we won’t give you any spoilers, but we will cover the story of season 1 in brief so the viewers can get an idea of what the series is all about. The series is set in 1893 England and it follows the story of a widow named Cora Seaborne an independent woman who does not care about what people think about her and she breaks a bunch of social rules in the process. She hears about these rumours about a creature called Essex Serpent who has been tormenting local village people, which intrigues her curiosity to solve the case. Cora then explores the truth behind the Essex Serpent with a pastor named Will Ransome. He, being a pastor, remains sceptical throughout the process of finding clues about the creature and Cora, being a lady scientist, does not agree with him. Even though they do not agree about the nature of the world around them, Will Ransome being rooted in religion and Cora Seaborne being rooted in science, they start building a friendship and end up falling for each other afterwards.
