Sing “Yesterday” For Me Season 2 Release Date, Cast, And More!

Sing “Yesterday” For Me, also known as “Yesterday Wo Uttate” in Japanese is an Anime Series adopted from an original Manga Series by Kei Toume. The series walks you through a simple yet realistic story, revolving around three main characters. But what is more intriguing is the way this series conveys so much without using many dialogues. With no unnecessary Humour, Drama, or Stereotypes, the anime series impressed a lot of fans with its unique plot and not-so-complex storyline in the first season that came out in 2020. Produced by Doga Kubo Studio, Sing “Yesterday” For Me is an anime that may not be everyone’s cup of tea but once you start enjoying the subtle theme and watching those deeply-layered characters, there’s no looking back!

Sing “Yesterday” For Me Season 2 Release Date

Since the first season concluded in June 2020, viewers and fans have been waiting to know whether there will be a sequel to this Anime Series. The last episode did not end on a major cliffhanger nor did it resolve all the plot points of the story. However, the makers skipped to the last volume of the original manga series to end the anime, which tells you that the series might not return with another season. Initially, the series was to have 18 episodes, adapting all the 11 volumes of the manga but that didn’t happen. All the volumes of the Manga were split and the anime ended with 12 episodes as they jumped on the last volume in the final episode. Taking this into consideration, the makers don’t seem to be left with anything to say in the new season as the Manga series that came out in 2015 did not return with another volume ever since. As long as the makers come up with an original story themselves to continue the series further, it is safe to say that Sing “Yesterday” For Me might not be returning with a Season 2.

Sing “Yesterday” For Me Season 2 Story

Sing “Yesterday” For Me Season 1 has three main characters that the story revolves around, namely- Rikou Uozumi, Haru Nonaka, and Shinako Morinome.

Rikou Uozumi, a college graduate, happens to be a Lazy Lad leading a monotonous and meaningless life. He aimlessly works at a convenience store in Tokyo, not knowing what the future has in store for him. However, his life becomes a little interesting when Haru Nonaka, an eccentric girl, makes frequent appearances at his workplace to befriend him. Haru works at a milking hall and has adopted a pet crow that accompanies her.

On the other hand, Rikou has feelings for his old college friend Shinako. When he learns that she has moved back into town, he reaches out to her in an attempt to further their relationship. But Rikou is unaware of the past burden that Shinako is carrying with her. She happens to linger on some painful past memories that are not letting her accept her feelings.

Meanwhile, Haru goes ahead and opens up about his feelings to Rikou and realizes that she, very much like him, is leading a life of uncertainty. The story moves forward as Rikou meets his former crush with the help of Shinako and her pet crow. The first season has just the right amount of romance and drama mixed together to give us unique yet great content. However, many weren’t satisfied with the ending as the series seemed to conclude in a rush.
