Written by Deko Akao and directed by Makoto Tamagawa, the series is licensed by Funimation and Muse Communication and revolves around Prince Wein Salema Arbalest, who wants to commit treason and run away from his duties.

Season 1 premiered on January 11, 2022, and ran till March 29, 2022, with 12 episodes of a period of 20 to 40 minutes. Holding a satisfying viewership with good ratings compared to other genres is likely to favor for its season 2, however, Studio Yokohama Animation Laboratory and other production companies have not said anything about the next installment though. Season 1 used only five volumes out of eleven, so the source material is also there. But, the makers and the network is yet to announce anything about its next installment.

The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt Season 2 Story
Season 1 shows how the chains of the kingdom come into the hands of Wein after his father gets ill. As he is smart and intelligent enough to smoothly run the kingdom, he thinks to run away from all his duties and responsibilities. In the finale of season 1, the viewers see Sirgis donate the Marden land at the Levetian church, and Wein tries to negotiate a few smart deals with him. In season 2, if gets renewed, the viewers will likely see Wein will hope to make the best use of the port in Soljest by visiting the Patura islands. He will try to make strategic deals with potential trade partners, but things will spiral out of control when a wrong decision lands him in prison. Season 2 will also be encountered a person who will help Wein to take control of the entire Patura islands.

Season 1 had Wein Salema Arbalest in the voice of Soma Saito and Dallas Reid who is the heir to the royal line of the Kingdom of Natra. He is a genius and is loved by the citizens too, but there lies a hidden Wein who wants to run away from all his troubles and duties. The second character is Ninym Ralei, voiced by Rie Takahashi and Michelle Rojas, who is a close friend and personal aide to Prince who comes from an oppressed minority known as the Flahm. She is close to him, and knows all his powers and intelligence. She is also aware of his treasonous side and pushes him to do what is required to save the kingdom.
Along with them, the viewers also see Falanya Elk Arbalest in the voice of Sayaka Senbongi and Amber Lee Connors. She is the younger sister of Prince Wein, and studies politics so that she can help him. Yuki Sakakihara and Elizabeth Maxwell voice Nanaki Ralei who is Princess Falanya’s ninja bodyguard. Lowellmina Earthwold was seen in the voice of Nao Tōyama and Alexis Tipton, the second princess of the Earthwold Empire, and the friend of Wein and Ninym when they attended the Academy. Fisch Brandel is voiced by Yōko Hikasa and Kimberly Grace, an ambassador between the Empire and the Kingdom of Natra. Other characters include Gruyere Solgest by Akio Ōtsuka, Torcheila Solgest in the voice of Rie Kugimiya with Zeno by Yuki Nakashima.

As of now, the viewers can watch only the official trailer of season 1, till there comes any news about season 2. If the series gets renewed for season 2, the viewers can likely watch it in late 2023, but till then, they can enjoy season 1.
