Breaking Bad was a popular criminal drama at its time, and after receiving such good ratings, how can it not have a spin-off? So the prequel is here. Created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, Better Call Saul is a crime drama, a spin-off, prequel, and a sequel to Gilligan’s previous series, Breaking Bad. The series deals with a conman artist, who changes his personality to a broad-minded and mature lawyer.
When Does Jimmy Become Saul?
Well, this is the question the most audience is waiting for. As long as he starts adjusting to the criminal world, Jimmy begins to use the alias “Saul Goodman”, a play on the phrase “It’s all good, man”. He initially uses it as the alternate identity for the high-energy pitchman in television ads he produces, and later makes use of it when he begins a business reselling prepaid cell phones on the street.
The first season of the series ran from February 8, 2015, to April 6, 2015, season 2 aired from February 15, 2016, to April 18, 2016, season 3 ran from April 10, 2017, to June 19, 2017, with its season 4 that aired from August 6, 2018, to October 8, 2018, and season 5 from February 23, 2020, to April 20, 2020. A sixth season will start airing from April 18, 2022, to August 15, 2022. All the seasons have 10 episodes except the last one which will have 13. The series got 8.8 ratings on IMDb and 98 % on Rotten Tomatoes. Liked by 92 % of people, the series garnered generally favorable reviews and ratings and is considered one of the best prequel series.

Better Call Saul Recap
The story of the series surrounds around a con artist named Jimmy McGill, who becomes a respectable and reputable lawyer, and then a criminal one called upon by the name of Saul Goodman. Impressed by her brother’s work, he got a degree in law from a correspondence school and wishes to work in the HHM ( Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill), but did not get the desired opportunity.
Later on, he starts working as a public defender and focus on low-paying clients. As he starts seeing high-paying clients, he found a prolonged lawsuit against a nursing home that was defrauding its clients. The case further leads to the Salamanca family that serves the Juárez Cartel drug interest, led first by Hector Salamanca, and then by his nephew Lalo and His Fring. As he starts getting into the criminal world, he changes his personality to Saul Goodman, and his work goes from unethical to illegal.
Where To Watch Better Call Saul?
The series was originally released on the AMC network, which was later acquired by Netflix, although the first season did not release on it. You can watch all the seasons on these two networks, and praised that the series got acceptable ratings.

The main cast includes Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman / Gene Takavic, who is a lawyer and a former scam artist, who becomes involved with the criminal world. Jonathan Banks seen as Mike Ehrmantraut is a former Philadelphia police officer working as a parking lot attendant at the Albuquerque courthouse. He also works as a private investigator, bodyguard, and cleaner. Rhea Seehorn is seen as Kim Wexler, a lawyer whom Jimmy met and became close friends with, and later develops a romantic relationship. She works at the Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill (HHM) law firm. Giancarlo Esposito is seen as Gus Fring who is the owner of the fast-food restaurant chain Los Pollos Hermanos, which he uses as a front to distribute cocaine with the Salamanca family.
Other casts include Patrick Fabian who is seen as Howard Hamlin, the managing partner at Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill, first appearing as Jimmy’s nemesis, until it becomes clear that he was acting under Chuck McGill’s orders with Michael Mando as Nacho Varga, who works in his father’s upholstery shop and is also an intelligent, ambitious member of Hector Salamanca’s gang and Michael McKean as Chuck McGill, Jimmy’s elder brother and a founding partner of HHM who is confined to his home by electromagnetic hypersensitivity and expresses disdain for his brother’s legal career.
