Acapulco is a Spanish television comedy-drama series in the English language created by Austin Winsberg, Jason Shuman, and Eduardo Cisneros. They got inspired by this comedy-drama television streaming show by a 2017 film named “How To Be a Latin Lover”. This show premiered on October 8, 2021, only on Apple Tv+. Originally, Gaz Alazraki was slated to executive produce and direct the opening episode, however, Richard Shepard was announced as the new director in March 2021.
Eugenio Derbez, Austin Winsberg, Chris Harris, Kim Tannenbaum, Eric Tannenbaum, Benjamin Odell, Jason Shuman, Jay Karsas, Richard Shepard, Eduardo Cisneros, and Paul Presburger are the executive producers of the series.
As of now, the show released a total of 10 episodes in its first season and each episode is 30 minutes long on average, premiered on Apple Tv+ on 8th October 2021.

Acapulco Season 2 Story
Máximo Gallardo finds his dream job as a houseboy at an elite resort in Acapulco, Mexico, in the film Acapulco. With a bright color palette and uniforms embellished with gauche pink stripes, the series is set in 1985, providing viewers a glance into all that is too much. Máximo faces the turmoil of the resort, as well as troubles at home, in season two, where he will meet a new lover. The second season will pick up precisely where the first left off. In the present day, and Older Máximo (Eugenio Derbez), who often narrates the program, returns to Acapulco and crosses paths with various characters from his past, with varying effects.
Acapulco Season 1 Recap
Maximo marries a rich woman over twice his age, after a career of courting wealthy older ladies. After 25 years of being spoilt, out of shape, and weary of having to wake up next to his now 80-year-old wife, he has the shock of his life when she dumps him in favor of a younger McLaren car salesman.
He approaches Rick, another affluent gigolo, after being forced out of his house and anxious for a place to stay. He crashes in the woman’s granddaughter’s upscale playhouse, which does not go down well. He soon settles into a modest apartment with his divorced sister, Sara, and her intellectual kid, Hugo. Maximo, eager to return to the lap of luxury, takes advantage of his nephew’s crush on Arden’s classmate to get to his next target: Celeste’s grandmother. Maximo attempts and fails miserably to rekindle his charm as a Latin lover. Sara discovers her brother’s deception and throws him out.
Maximo finds himself connecting with his nephew while training Hugo in certain methods he thinks work on ladies, and this expands his heart to be less selfish and more compassionate of others. Maximo eventually becomes a male prostitute for the woman with whom Rick used to live, and he mends his ties with his sister and nephew.
