Vikings: Valhalla is an American television and streaming historical drama, which was created by Jeb Stuart for Netflix. The series set one 100 years after the events of Vikings follows the end of the era of the Viking Age, which is marked by the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066. On February 25, 2022, Netflix launched the series.

Tensions between the Vikings and the English royals approach a brutal breaking point one 100 years after the events of Vikings, and the Vikings themselves struggle over their conflicting Christian and Pagan beliefs. As they fight for survival and glory, Leif Erikson, Freyds Eirksdóttir, and Harald Hardrada embark on an epic voyage that will take them across oceans and battlefields, from Kattegat to England and beyond. The ending of the Viking Age was signaled by the Battle of Stamford Bridge, which did take place in 1066.

On January 4, 2019, it was revealed that Michael Hirst and MGM Television were producing a spin-off series with writer Jeb Stuart, along with the announcement that Vikings would conclude after its sixth season. On 19 November 2019, it was revealed that this film, dubbed Vikings: Valhalla, would be released on Netflix a century after the first series ended. MGM Television produced the 24-episode series, which was shot primarily in Ireland at the very same Ashford Studios in County Wicklow. “The adventures of Leif Erikson, Freydis, Harald Hardrada, and the Norman king William the Conqueror” are the subject of the show.

Vikings: Valhalla Season 1 Recap

It is Saint Brice’s Day in the Danelaw Viking Settlements, and Harald Sigurdsson departs for Norway. Meanwhile, Aethelred II’s troops assassinate the Viking settlers, which include Harald’s brother Sten. The massacre is heard by Greenlanders Leif Erikson and Freyds. She tracks down the man who raped her years before: Gunnar Magnusson, a disciple of Harald’s older brother Olaf.

Harald greets Leif and promises him great honor if he agrees to join him. Greenlanders create a distraction, which allows Freydis to enter the big hall and stab Gunnar. Then, just as Olaf is about to kill Freydis, Haakan intervenes. Harald informs everyone that Freydis is claiming vengeance and demands that she displays her scar to everyone. King Canute agrees with Haakan’s statement that she will make her decision in the morning.

The trial begins, and Freydis suggests fighting Olaf, but the trial is halted. Harald, on the other hand, makes Leif pledge his allegiance to his cause. Aethelred II and Godwin talk about the Vikings’ invasion plans. Before embarking on his adventure with Harald, Freydis bids Leif farewell. When Emma of Normandy pays a visit to her partner, he informs her about the dangers of Vikings. Tensions between Leif and Jarl Gorm grow as they travel across the sea. In the meantime, Haakan tells Freydis about her husband.

On their approach to Streona, Prince Edmund tells Godwin of his siblings’ deaths. Prince Edmund and Godwin soon arrive in Streona and make their demands. Tensions among Leif and Gorm continue to rise, and Leif stabs him. They’ve just arrived in England.
