Space Sweepers is a South Korean sci-fi movie written by Yoon Seung-min, Yoo-Kang Seo-ae, Jo Sung-hee, and directed by Jo Sung-Hee. The movie was aired on Netflix on February 5, 2021. It is the first Korean Space blockbuster, starring Song Joong-ki(Tae-ho), Kim Tae-ri(Captain Jung),  Jin Seon-kyu(Tiger Park), and Yoo Hae-jin(Robot Bubs).

The story takes place in the year 2092 when Earth has become almost uninhabitable. Only the elite class people are considered as UTS citizens and the non-citizens across the globe survive as space sweepers.  The crew of space sweepers in Victory consisting of Tae-ho, Captan Jung, Tiger Park, and Bubs always aims to destroy the UTS and make Earth a better place. But Tae-ho has his own personal reasons. He is desperate to make money in order to save his daughter, who was ejected into space. The story takes a tragic turn when they discover a robot named Dorothy.

The movie is based on a webtoon named ‘Steel Rain.’ The worldwide release of the movie was on March 14, 2018, on Netflix. The main characters were played by Jung Woo-sung as Eom Chul-woo, former North Korean special forces agent, and Kwak Do-won as Kwak Chul-woo, South Korean senior presidential secretary for foreign affairs and national security. Eom Chul-woo is ordered by his superior to travel to Kaesong, the border of Soth Korea, to kill two men.

During the mission, he realizes that the North Korean army has planned to sophisticate the U.S. rocket(Steel Rain). The firebombed directly at Kaesong’s center, and cause great destruction. After that, they even try to kill the leader(No.1). But Eom saves the leader and enters Soth Korea. Sonn, reaches Seoul with the key to stop the war and meets Kwak Chul-woo and shares the secret. But things get more complicated when they face differences in their opinions.

The main casts are  Kang Ha-neul(Jin-Seok), Kim Mu-yeolYoo-Seok), Moon Sung-Keun(The Father), and Na Young-hee(The Mother). The story happens in 1997. Jin-Seok is a 21-year-old teenager who moves into his new hoes with his parents and his brother, Yoo-Seok.

One day, his brother gets kidnapped and returns after 19 days. Suddenly, he starts feeling distant from his family members, and soon he realizes that the people with whom he is living are not his family. He then escapes from them and reports the case to the police. But at the police station, he realizes that the present year is 2017 and not 1997. He is 41-years-old and not 21-years. The unexpected twist brought more interest which makes the audience curious to figure out what actually happened.

It is a thriller film starring Park Shin-Hye(Kim Seo-Yeon) and Jeon Jung-seo(Oh Young-sook). The story takes happens the year 2019. Seo-yang comes to her hometown to check on her sick mother( Eun-ae), and she loses her phone on the way.

While looking around her childhood home, she finds a decades-older chordless phone. She gets frightened when she receives a call from that. She figures out that the call is from Young-sook who is living in the same house, but in 1999. Soon she gets acquainted with the caller and shares their personal information. Since they are in two different years both of them get to know about their past and future. They help each other in changing their future. But the story takes an unusual turn when Young-sook escapes from the house and becomes a serial killer.

The story is about two unlucky souls who meet each other during their worst time.

Tae-goo is a gangster and rival of the Bukseong gang. Chairman Doh is the leader of the gang. When Doh offers Tae-goo to join his gang, he rejects the offer, which ultimately leads to the death of his sister and niece. In order to take revenge, Tae-goo kills the Chairman and escapes to Jeju Island. Chairman Doh’s gang and others desperately hunt for Tae-goo. It hit the first position in the box office in the opening week and had a collection of 1.18 million viewers in the first five days. It’s a mystery thriller starring  Lee Jung-Jae(Pastor Park), Park Jung-min(Na-han), Lee Jae-in(Geum-Hwa), Jung Jin-young(Chief Hwang), Lee David(Joseph), and Jin Seon-kyu(Monk Hae-an). The story begins with the birth of Geumhwa and her twin sister(It).

Geumhwa was born with a disability in her leg, and It was kept hidden in the shed since her birth. Whenever someone tries to go near the shed, It would release snakes to bite them. Meanwhile, an investigation group hunts to find a mysterious group named “Deer Mountain” and police special agents try to find out the cult behind the murder of a girl buried in the concrete. The story becomes more intense when both the teams meet at the same point, where they realize that they are searching for the same group.

Tune In For Love is a romantic Korean movie written by Lee-Sook-Yeon and directed by Jung-Ji woo. The movie was released on 28 August 2019.  Kim Go-eun(Kim Mi-soo) and Jung Hae-in(Cha Hyun-woo) are the beautiful pairs, around whom the love has bloomed. 

The love story happens in 1997, Mi-soo works as a hardworking part-timer at a bakery and she meets Hyun woo through a radio program where they exchange stories and starts falling for each other. Soon Hyun-woo joins as a part-timer at the same bakery as Mi-soo and they spend quality time together. But he resigns from the job when his friends create problems in the bakery. Though she accepts his resignation, deep inside she wishes for him to come back. But he never does. After a few months, they again meet up and spend time together, but this time they show hints that they like each other.

Unfortunately, Mi-soo gets to know that Hyung-woo will join military service soon. So she creates an email for him to be in touch with him. He leaves with the hope to chat with her. Later, she realizes that she hasn’t given him the password for the account. Though she feels miserable about it, she keeps sending him emails in a hope that he will figure out the password. He figures out the password quite later and after a long struggle, they start dating. But it didn’t last for long. Hyung-woo breaks up with her when he gets to know that she knows about his past.

Okja is an adventure film written and directed by Bong Joon-ho. The movie was released on Netflix on September 8, 2020.  Yoo Ah-in(Oh Joon-woo) and Park Shin-Hye(Kim Yoo-bin) are playing the lead roles in the movie. Joon-wo is a videogame player and stays alone at his home, When he hears the news about a zombie breakout, he makes a post on social media begging someone to rescue him. Though he manages to escape from zombies for a day or two, soon they start to attack him by breaking into his house.

Joon-woo tired of fighting decides to suicide. But he changes his decision when he spots another survivor Yoo-bin opposite to his flat. Even in the chaos, they find peace with each other, and soon they bond together. They decide to fight the zombie and escape to the top floor, where they can call out for help from the military. The story takes an unexpected turn when they get tricked by a zombie, and it locks them inside a room with many infected zombies. But the story doesn’t end there.

Pandora is a South Korean film starring Kim Nam-Gil(Kang Jae-hyeok). It was written and directed by Park Jung-woo. Jae-hyeok is a middle-aged man working at a power plant that provides energy and job to the entire town. He doesn’t like to work there, but he does it anyway to save his family. People complained to close the plant because its radiation is causing many deaths. But the higher authorities ignored the complaints.

But one day, the entire town gets destroyed due to an earthquake which leads to the release of one of the nuclear reactors. They try many ways to stop it, but they couldn’t. So they start shifting the remaining people to somewhere safe. The only way left to save the town is by destroying the nuclear reactor. Jae-hyeok willingly decides to take up the mission, knowing that he will never come back.

Sweet and Sour is a 2021 South Korean rom-com movie directed by Lee Gye-byeok, It is based on the novel ‘Initiation Love’ written by  Kurumi Inui.  Jang Ki-Yong(Jang-hyuk), Chae Soo-bin (Da-eun), and Krystal Jung(Han Bo-Yeong) plate the main roles in the movie. The story is about two lovers who meet coincidently and fall in love with each other. Da-eun works in Incheon and Jang-hyuk works in Seoul. Though they know that they are way too far, they decide to work out this long-distance relationship.

Both of them decide to stay together at Incheon. Due to the heavy workload, Jang-hyuk fails to spend quality time with Da-eun. This creates distance between them, but back at his office, his bond with Bo-Yeong grows stronger. Things get messier when he accidentally brings up Bo-Yeong while conversing with Da-eun. Da-eun gets pregnant with Jang-hyuk’s baby, which adds fuel to the fire.

Pyung-dal is a former crime detective who lives at one of his houses for rent. The story is about a case that they solve together. Both of them join their hands to solve a 30-years-old unsolved mystery case.

The movie is directed by Kim Yong-Hwa. It is based on a webtoon titled ‘Along With The Gods’ written by Joo Ho-min.

Kim Ja-hong is a firefighter who dies while doing his duty, After his death, he is escorted to the afterlife by three guardians, Gang-rim, Haewonmark, and Lee Deok-Choon. He will be called for seven trials for 49 days. If he passes the trial he will be reincarnated and the guardians will be praised. During the trial, they will check all the good deeds and bad deeds he has committed during his lifetime. Things become more exciting when they research through his past.

The movie is directed by  Hwang Dong-hyuk, starring  Gong Yoo(Kang In-ho) and Jung Yu-mi(Seo Yoo-jin).  Benevolence Academy is a school for hearing-impaired children. Kang In-ho is a newly appointed teacher there. Since he is new there, students behave weirdly with him and avoid running into him. But he is way too excited to teach the students, and he decides not to give up soon. But the more he gets to know about the school, the more suspicious he becomes. The story becomes more breathtaking when he understands a shocking secret about the school.
