The film conveys the story of Vincent MacKenna who is an alcoholic Vietnam war veteran. He forms and relationship with a young boy named Oliver Bronstein. Oliver moves in with Vincent. Bronstein’s family interaction with the grumpy neighbor will be not so promising. The film touches every emotion needed in life and every emotion faced by an individual. Nonetheless, as Oliver faces tormenting at his new school, he observes a companion in Vincent, who consents to mind for a charge.
