American gods is an American drama series belonging to the fantasy genre. The show has already been running for 3 seasons and is based on the novel of Neil Gaiman and both the show and novel share the same name. in the first two episodes, the storyline was more or less based on the novel but by the third season we see a lot of drift from the original source material. The show gathered quite a huge fanbase and is well appreciated by all the critics out there for its unique storyline along with the direction.
The show has got a 7.7 IMDb rating which is quite admirable and makes the show worth a watch by all. The show revolves around the two main characters shadow and Mr. Wednesday as they enter into a new world where the existence of God is quite realistic and the new gods of the upcoming generation are taking over while the old gods lose their influence over people.
Mr. Wednesday is out on a journey to unite all the old gods and lead them in a fight against the new generation. with the end of season 3, the rising question that needs to be taken care of is season 4 updates. Season 4 of the series is not confirmed yet, the show is currently at a halt but we have received from Neil that the show is not dead and will soon return either with its sequel in the form of a series or a concluding movie. Though there is a chance for a long wait the show is surely coming back.
American Gods Season 4 Release Date
The makers of the show have confirmed that the show is definitely not dead yet and the next season will be the final season though there has been a halt in the making. We have already heard that the writing of the fourth season began in 2019. The third season of the show came out in the year 2021 along with the first season which premiered in 2017.
There might be a long waiting period for the fourth season but according to our sources we have heard the show is going to be concluded in the form of a series and the wait for it will conclude in the year 2023. The new season will have a total of 10 episodes just like its previous season with each episode having a runtime of nearly 50-60 minutes.

American Gods Season 3 Recap
Season 3 of the show starts with a long journey together where Mr. Wednesday is accompanied by shadow we also get to know about the father and the son relation which both of them share, we also see the native god whiskey jack who is quite not okay with Wednesday and ends up pointing a gun towards him. Though shadow is safe now he goes on a tour around the town where he sees everyone is behaving in a different manner when he is around, we also see his cars clash with a reindeer on his way with Chad and soon he finds out that a girl has gone missing and he is being the prime suspect. While Wednesday is on his way to meet warlord Tyr who is now a dentist.
In the next episode, we see fewer gods while shadow is on his way to search Wednesday and towards the end, we hear about the technical boy, the next episode is concentrated on the pair of shadow and technical boy while we see Wednesday hooking up with a friend who ends up Marilyn mason in the bar called Valhalla. With many more godly affairs and encounters towards the end of the season, we see the unexpected death of shadow which seems quite mysterious along with the disappearance of his dead body.
American Gods Season 4 Story
Season 4 of the show will pick up from we were left with the death of shadow and the disappearance of his body from the base of the tree Yggdrasil. The answers about his death will be answered in season 4 along with more on the story of bilquis and the impending war between the old gods and the new gods which are expected in season 4.
