It is an elimination-styled competition that was the spin-off of American reality shows like The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. It features past contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette as they travel to scheduled paradise in Mexico for the show. The show was initially hosted by Chris Harrison.

The number of men and women on the beach is almost always unequal, so the ones who don’t get a rose from a potential partner end up being sent home. Even though there was no Paradise in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the show usually starts in August.
