City on a hill is an American crime drama television series created by Chuck McLean. The show is based upon a story of the same name written by famous actors Ben Affleck and McLean. Affleck also serves as the executive producer of the show. City on a Hill currently has 2 seasons with 18 episodes that range from 55 to 58 minutes in runtime. Show creator Charlie MacLean decided to make a show based upon the story of the same name which he co-wrote along with the famous Hollywood actor Ben Affleck. Later MacLean and Affleck served as the executive producers on the show. Other producers included Hollywood Celebrity Matt Demon and Director James Mangold. The show was confirmed and picked by broadcasting network “Showtime” in May 2018. City on a hill itself premiered on 16th June 2019. Less than 2 months since the premiere of the first season show was renewed for a second season that premiered on 28th March 2021 and on 2nd June 2021 show was renewed for a third season which would release sometime in mid-2022.

City on a hill is set in a 1990’s Boston that is gripped by violence, police corruption, and racism. Suddenly it all changed due to what was called the famous “Boston Miracle”. Assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward who has come from Brooklyn to Boston forms a team with Corrupt FBI veteran officer Jackie Rohr, together they challenge the entire criminal system of Boston and attempts to put the end to problems in the city.

The story begins in a destructive 1990’s Boston where veteran FBI agent Jackie Rohr is working in a corrupt culture, but a new assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward has to clean this system. After together investigation of a car robbery case both of them form an alliance. Decourcy soon comes to know that he has made an enemy in the city after an eventful Sunday, Jackie is having trouble at his home. Decourcy is working on lifting the infamous “code of silence” in the city and Jackie is searching for an absent informer who was to give him important information. Jackie is very close to finding the guards of armored trucks. Jackie and Decourcy are finding a weapon that links to a robbery.
