Karl Urban was born on June 7, 1972, in Wellington, New Zealand. He went to St Mark’s Church School. He is graduated from Wellington College from 1986 to 1990. He then enrolled himself at Victoria University of Wellington in the Bachelor of Arts program but left after one year to pursue a career in acting. For some years, he appeared in many TV commercials and theatre roles. Then he moved to Auckland where he got many more offers in TV shows. He is present in the industry since 1990.
His father was the owner of a goods store. His mother worked for a film in Wellington. Karl Urban got to know more about the industry and developed his interest by seeing his mother. He first acted at the age of eight in the New Zealand TV series, Pioneer Woman in which his role was minimum series.
