Based on the light novel series written and illustrated by Negi Haruba, The Quintessential Quintuplets or Go Tobun no Hanayome has made its spot among the one of the most popular harem anime mixed with certain comedic sequences here and there. Those who have prediction of the genre, keep the anime in high regards. But, for others it just another high school drama with overdramatic characters as with the case of other harem anime. The preponderance of the praise towards the anime can essentially be witnessed.
As of now there are 2 seasons of the anime. The first season of the anime got announced on August 8, 2018 after one year made its appearance on January 10, 2019. The show got concluded on March 28, 2019. The second season one year later also got conclude around the same time in March next year. Both seasons carried 12 episodes each under its belt.
Quintessential Quintuplets Season 3 Characters
The first season was directed by Satoshi Kuwabara while the writing was undertaken by Keiichiro Ochi and the production studio involved was Tezuka Productions which in the past is involved with popular anime such as Kanojo mo Kanojo and Dororo. The second season however, saw the change in the director in the form of Kaori while the writer remained the same.
The production also changed hands with Bibury Animation Studios. The studio’s previous records of anime is not worth harking back as they all have less than 7 rating on MyAnimeList. But, ratings can be deceptive sometimes. Both seasons were licensed by Crunchyroll and Funimation and were broadcasted on local networks such as TBS, SUN, BS11.

Quintessential Quintuplets Season 3 Release Date
For all the avid fans of the anime, we have got good news for you, as the anime has been announced to make its appearance again. The announcement came on January this year through the medium of Twitter with a short message in Japanese that translated with paraphrasing as: thank you everyone for your support. The sequel to the Quintessential Quintuplets is finalized. Stay tuned for more updates.
However, later as it turned out the anime’s reoccurrence will in the form of movie and not a full-fledged 3rd season. But, seldom does it happen that a series got its announcement soon after the final episode of the previous season finished airing. The move will be available to watch sometime in 2022.
So, we should be grateful that at least we will get to see some content.
But, technically this isn’t the third season so, when will the third season make its comeback? This depends on few factors such as popularity and content left to be adapted.
Over the years the show has received mostly positive feedbacks, which is also reflected in the show’s IMBD and MyAnimeList rating of 7.7 and 7.6 respectively. Moreover, it has been the recipient of many honors. For instance, for the 2018 Next Manga Award, the show was nominated and received 16, 106 votes in total. Talking about the sales, in January the show was able to sold 2 million volumes in print while in April the sales surged to 15 million volumes, which is a humongous number. In 2019 it also went on to become the 5th bestselling manga.
The manga series was concluded in 2020 itself with 122 chapters serialized into 14 volumes. From this front the story is unlikely to move forward.
The first season of the anime was able to adapt the first 32 chapters, while for the second season the makers tried to hasten up things a bit and got it covered all the way till 86 chapters. Based on this, it can be reckoned that the movie will serve as the conclusion of the anime. But, it is a tough task to cramp up 36 chapters into one single movie. Again, it can be argued that they might cut the chapters in between the same way they did in the making of 2nd season.
There is a 50-50 chance of the show’s renewal after the movie. As the only thing that remains to be concluded is who is Futaro going to marry out of the five sisters and if the movie covers this portion then there won’t be essentially anything left to be covered.
