  1. Whenever something is “loved” on tv….it’s ended. I HAVE to believe that this series was a definite step up for the actors except maybe Barkin and Speedman. Nevertheless, ALL of the “Codys” are superior talented actors and should win awards. Shawn Hatosy is an INCREDIBLE actor….see “Soldier’s girl” ….a young Hatosy at his BEST! By the way, Finn Cole’s brother was fabulous in “Gangs of London” and they killed off his character. Stupid! He should move to “Animal Kingdom”! It’s a funny thing about series and characters. The actors always gthink they are better than the part they play. Ask the living members of “M.A.S.H” about that. In this case, I believe that the actors in this series are not like others and would continue for a few more seasons. The series is incredibly well written, great filming (super angles),and the additional actors surrounding the main ones are ALL superior as well. Perhaps the answer for all of the problems with “Animal Kingdom” surviving as with other well liked shows that seem to leave before their time is readilly apparent. Not everyone can watch every show! Take a look a “G.O.T. “on HBO. It preceeded the “streaming thing” but lasted a long time. Look at “Outlander”, just when it was to end it was revived. I suggest that TNT let “Animal Kingdom” move to one its paid streaming partners….if people are willing to pay to see it….why not let it go on? Those actors who wish to leave, like when Speedman was killed off to go to medical show, another actor (character) will take the place of the one leaving. There is a reason the soap operas have lasted decades and gone though LOTS of actors. After all, isn’t that the American way? Let the market control! Yes, I’ll pay to watch the Codys get old and even watch them scam social security!

    • Good for you, I live in New Zealand and we have to wait longer for these shows to air and we only get them on paid for channels like Sky’s Soho, Netflix or Neon so it costs to watch it anyway. I binge watched the rest when visiting friend in Australia two years ago. But it’s only been released on Neon here not long ago. Great show fantastic actors can’t wait for season six.

  2. Absolutely correct to say when a show is loved, they love to end it. I just heard this news and I’m very upset about it. I’m hoping it will be picked up by a better station (like when Buffy was ended unsatisfactorily another channel picked it up and it went on for several more years, concluding with everything wrapped up). There are very few shows I can stand to watch on television nowadays and I Don’t watch unscripted tv. It’s all fake, It’s NOT unscripted and we all know it. Only brainless idiots watch it. Either way I’m done with tnt.
