Byomkesh is the Bengali web series Available on Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on the famous detective character named Byomkesh Bakshi created by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay. The story is set in the 1930s in Calcutta, India. We can say that Byomkesh is an Indian version of Sherlock Holmes’s character. Byomkesh’s character has been chosen by many of the makers to make serials. In 1993 there was a television serial of the same name and character which was also a Masterpiece of the time. Their humor, talk between Byomkesh and Ajit (his friend), the adventure, sarcasm, and many more things are there to be loved. The web series’ first season came into the year 2017 by the Bengali cinema industry and till then it created a place in every youngster’s heart. The series made a total of 6 successful seasons with 14 episodes. The last season, that is season 6 is released in January 2021.
What is Byomkesh Web Series about?
Byomkesh solves mysteries behind murder cases or any other type of crime. The whole process involves a lot of adventure, and thrilling facts and proofs. Ajit Banerjee is his friend and he always accompanies Byomkesh in the investigations. There is another interesting fact the Byomkesh story that it is set in the 1930s of Culcutta when India was under British Rule. The plot is taken from the Byomkesh book written by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay.

The cast of the Byomkesh web series includes Anirban Bhattacharya as Byomkesh Bakshi, Subrat Dutta as Ajit Kumar Banerjee (he performed in seasons 1 to 3), Ridhima Ghosh as Satyabati who is the wife of Byomkesh, Suprobhat Das as Ajit Kumar Banerjee ( he performed since season 4). These are the lead characters.
Other cast includes Aryan Bhowmik, Bhaskar Banerjee, Monu Mukherjee, Indrashish Roy, Mrinal Mukherjee, Kaushik Kar, Dulal Lahiri, Amrita Chattopadhyay, and some more.

Byomkesh Season 6 details
Season 6 is streaming from 8th January 2021 on Prime Video. Its plot is based on the original story named, ‘Magno Mainak’ written by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay. Season 6 of Byomkesh Web Series is directed by Soumik Halder and comprised of three episodes :
Episode 1-Henna Monyota, Episode 2- Roshoshyomoy Mouth Organ, Episode 3- Deshbhager Kesharawd. The story is about dealing with a smuggler who hides in Bangladesh. There appears a mysterious death of Henna Mallick to which Byomkesh investigates and finds the main culprit.
There are a total of 32 Byomkesh Bakshi’s stories written by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay. All the films and series with this detective character have been adapted from the stories written by the same writer. There is not any official announcement by the makers about creating the next season as the last season is just premiered this January 2021. But, according to the understanding, we can hope for its season 7. Because there are still many stories left that can be adapted in the web series.
Byomkesh Season 7 Release Date
Byomkesh Season 7 will be released in 2022. Since the first season aired (on 14 October 2017) it took only a little period to air season 2 ( on 16th December 2017).
After that, the other seasons arrived within 6 months to 12 months. Season 5 was aired on 10 January 2020 and then season 6 aired on 8 January 2021. The last two consecutive seasons aired in the continuous last two years. Thus, it can be predicted that the next will also take 12 months if it goes with this rhythm of the period. So, season 7 of Byomkesh will be released in the starting 2022 or maybe in the last of 2021.
Adaptations of the Byomkesh book into web series
The first season is an adaptation of three stories out of the 32 stories of Byomkesh Bakshi character written by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay, named ‘Satyaneshi’, ‘Pathsrkanta Artham Anartham’, ‘Makorshar Rosh’.
The second season is an adaptation of the story named,’ Raketr Dag’ this is one of the bestseller books. The third season is an adaptation of the story named ‘Shajaru’r Kanta’.
The fourth season is an adaptation of the story named ‘Agnibaan’ The fifth season is an adaptation of the story named,’ Khnuji Khnuji Nari, Dushtochakra’ The sixth season of the Byomkesh web series is an adaptation of the story named ‘Magno Mainak’
Story of Byomkesh web series season 7
The seventh season will also be an adaptation of another Byomkesh Story that has not yet been announced. But soon it might be revealed.
