Saif Ali Khan is all set to come back with another intriguing series. After blowing our minds in Sacred Games, Saif’s next project ‘Tandav‘ is a political drama. The lead actor will be seen as a political leader as this new series is teeming with the power play. The teaser of Tandav is now finally out. This forthcoming series of Saif Ali Khan is directed and created by Ali Abbas Zafar. Well, one could say that it promises a nail-biting political drama. Do you all remember Article 15? Of course, this series was packed with the reality of society. Article 15 fame Gaurav Solanki penned down the story of Tandav. However, Ali Abbas Zafar is the creator and director of the series itself. Also, is well known for films like Tiger Zinda Hai, Sultan, and Bharat. Film or any web series is never possible without a producer. So, Himanshu Kishan Mehra is the producer of this forthcoming series. Actually, this will be the digital debut of Ali Abbas Zafar.

Although, Tandav will be a 9 parts political drama that will feature an ensemble cast. This list includes Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Kumud Mishra and, Tigmanshu Dhulia. In addition to this, Kritika Kamra, Kritika Avasthi, Anup Soni, Paresh Pahuja, Gauhar Khan, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Dino Morea, and Sarah-Jane Dias are also in Tandav.
The series will be launched on January 15 on Amazon Prime Video.

Director’s statement

The fourth coming web series of Saif Ali Khan, Tandav is all set to release in January. Before its release director spoke about it.
He said through this series they would take the audience into a world of politics. Watching this show will make people realize that there is no right or wrong, there is no black or white. Adding to his statement, he said that the world of power is all about the world of greys.

Talking about the performances, he said that he has many heavyweights in the show for which he is very fortunate.

In an interview, Khan said that the show is based on politics and is set on a massive scale. He didn’t want to use any American example but still, he said that it is on the line of House of cards but it is set within the Indian Politics’ framework. The storyline comprises many points like UP Cops and Dalit Politics.

Coming to his character, he added that his role in the series is Chanakya-like. Also, he is aspiring to become the prime minister of the country who comes from a privileged background and is a youth leader.

Reasons to watch Tandav

Well, there are many reasons to watch this political drama series but here there are some of those:

  • Twists and Turns: Talking in general, it is always seen that political thrillers only leave behind a strong impact when they feature an ample amount of twists and turns. Intense moments are few in Tandav as the teaser suggests however it remains mysterious whether it will hit the right notes or not.
  • The urban look of Saif: Here, the actor is going to play the role of an ambitious politician. Seeing the trailer one could say that his body language and character is well defined and has shades of grey. If that is the case, he might prove himself as the right choice for the series.
  • Hit dialogues: As the trailer starts, it begins with a strong voice-over. This highlights the political equations in the world of Tandav. If it contains these hard-hitting lines in a sufficient amount it might prove itself as a ‘Desi’ version of House of cards.
